wolfbass
Running Switch Plus 1.42; when converting Mp3 to Mp3 file bit rates the tag information from the original file is lost. Example on the original file Tag info shows:-artist-album-year-track number-file type-duration-bit rate-size. After conversion all that is shown is:- duration-file type-bit rate-protect-size. How do I set up Switch Plus 1.42 to retaining all the Tag ID's from the original MP3 files afterconverting the bit rates? Can anybody help (please), this is driving me round the bend. Guest MichaelJee
Hello, So your saying that the process is stripping off artist album year track num ? 1 – I have just converted three 128bit mp3’s to 192bit mp3’s and all fields carried over – what OS are you using? 2 – Please detail your exact process so I can try and replicate it M

I sent the Mp3 file to NCH technical support; just received a reply from them, as follows:- Quote "It is because Switch do not use ID3v2 tag if ID3v1 is disabled. We will fix this and release new version after testing. Please use this workaround: Open your source file with Winamp, then open file properties and use button copy ID3v2 tag to ID3v1. End of Quote. I told NCH that I had hundreds of filres to convert, and their workaround was not practical. Also asked them when new release od Switch fixing this bug would be issued. To date no date given. Guest MichaelJee
Hi, 1 - When did you send the email, who responded? 2 – Sorry, I’m not seeing the connection between the ID3 tag and stripping issue, can you please detail? When you respond, ill contact the current developers for the app and get some more information for you. Cheers M

Guest MichaelJee
G’day Ken, Unfortunately we don’t have a date, as we’re busy with our future video applications. I would hazard a guess and say that it would be in the next Switch revision (<6months) The software game can be unpredictable Cheers M

Best Regards Ken I've noted a similar (maybe same) problem on recoding batches of mp3 files: existing id3v2 tags are converted to id3v1 tags, thus truncated. I've verified this with "MP3TAG". Obviously, V2 tags are preferable. :') Will be looking for subsequent version, with fix for this. John
