Guest Brian J Dunphy
I use the IVM to transfer calls to both the US and Spain. When I transfer the calls to the US using supervised transfer the calls go through fine. When I transfer to Spain the call is recognised as answered before it begins to ring and then disconnects the call. I have tried both transfers using my phone only and they work fine. My phone service will transfer a call as soon as it begins ringing - you can discconect and the call is transfered. I have tried this with several voice modems (currently Dlink) and they all behave the same - this is therefore an issue with IVM. Is there a way to disconnect the call as soon as it begins ringing? I have tried using a blind transfer but the IVM disconnects instantly. I have set the blind to !, {number} and then ,,,,! to give the modem time to hear the first ring after 5 seconds (assuming a "," is 1 second). Scenarios desired - supervised until first ring and then disconnect the call. OR Blind transfer (using modem) - !, {number} and then wait N seconds to ! Any ideas??? NCHCraig
Have you double checked with you telephone system provider in Spain and confirmed the call transfer proceedure. It may be the process is different (ie maybe they do not use ! or request a particular hook flash time). Note hook flash timing is part of the modem driver not IVM so if there is a difference you will need to check the configuration of your modem and possibly set a initialisation string. Please note as IVM works in the US with the same hardware then a software fault is rather unlikely.
