Guest Guest_Paul_*
Hi. I just downloaded the Windows version of Express Scribe through my VLC Medical Transcription course, and I find that it can't read the wav files on the CDs that I got for the course. The response I get says I need another "codec" and suggests I try running the file through Windows Media Player. This program doesn't recognize the file format either. Just to fill in the picture, another dictation program I have, WAvpedal, reads these files fine. How can I get the appropriate software (codec? audio compression manager? whatever.) so that Express Scribe can read my files. Thank you in advance. nchtj
try downloading the GSpot codec tool here: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ load your files in this program and tell me what codec it says the files are using.
