Delay when picking up an extension from IMS

I am experiencing a major delay when I pick up the extenstion when someone calls in. When someone calls in they hear the onhold music and the phones ring, when I pick up the extension there is a 5-6 second delay for the people on the line to be able to hear me. If I turn off the onhold music and allow it to just ring, there is no delay and the caller can hear me instantly.. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it? This is all the latest version of the trial software, I'm trying out the axon because it seems less complicated then asterisk.
