I know there's another post with a similar title, but I have investigated it and it doesn't seem to refer to quite the same issue I'm having. This is actually on a friend's computer: I have the paid version of Express Scribe on Windows 7 and I've never had this issue; she is using the free trial of ES, currently, and Windows 8.1. She tried to change the hot-keys in the settings to ones that are more intuititive to her, and then found that they immediately reverted to the defaults, despite saving the changes she had made. I bought a brand new DELL 8700 computer in May and am running OS 8.1. I also have the latest version of Express Scribe v5.69 but for ANY video file format I load and play it won't be play in color, just black-and-white. Has anybody else run into this problem and if so (or if not) does anybody recommend what I should do to get the files to play in color? I have not set the computer up with any other settings than factory. Help. Thank you. -David Bogard

I am on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 laptop, and have worked with Videopad a lot in the past. And I thought that version 2.4.1 was, by far, the best version they've ever released. I still have it installed on my other computer, a Windows 7 desktop, and I was interested in installing it on my laptop. However, when I downloaded that particular version for my laptop, it said that it was not compatible with my version of Windows. I figured I could get it to work by installing it and then messing around with its settings in compatibility mode. However, this warning will not let me install it anyway. I was
