I've been using Videopad for awhile now - mostly just to edit client demo's or trim video for the internet. So those things are easy for me. Now I have a more difficult task. I have some video files that were transferred from VHS tapes many years ago. They're from when we were on location making movies in other parts of the world. There's some stuff that's fun to revisit but the quality is often less than great. The sound can be inconsistent (loud from the person who was shooting the video - and quieter from who was being filmed). So first question - 1. Is there a way to normalize

I am new to video editing and would greatly appreciate it if someone could advise me regarding "Device Settings", "Encoder Settings" and "Property" Settings for video capture please. I am using a video capture device with the red, yellow and white RCA plugs (plus S Video) with a USB connector for the PC. My PC is 3.6Ghz, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 10. I have the latest version of Videopad and plenty of spare disk space. I would like to capture video from the following devices: Sony Digital Camera/Recorder (Mini DV Cassette tapes); Sony Handycam Camera/Recorder Hi8; and a standard VHS player

I am using Debut to transfer home videos to my computer, with a Honestech device to connect the VCR to my computer. I have chosen to use Debut rather than the Honestech software that came with the device, as it is quite dated. A 2-hour video converts to an almost 8 GB mp4 file. This seems excessive to me, and as I have many to convert, I would like to ensure that I am using the optimum configuration. Would someone please direct me to the best file type and settings? Thank you.

I’m using a usb vhs to dvd converter to Golden video and it captures the footage just fine, but it doesn’t capture any of the audio. Can anybody help with this ?

Dear I'm processing an old movie hosted in the vhs format and later converted to vob but it has several defects tracking tracking stabilization I already processed in video stabilization video pad asked if repeating the operation or in some other way could correct tracking effects that there are still many thanks

I am trying to put my vhs tape to dvd using easier cap and debut. Video records good but can not get audio even after trying the support items online. Using Windows 10-64. On the audio tab microphone and speakers are what shows up to select. I have tried both. I have downloaded the latest debut software. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've got one of those ClimaxDigital usb capture devices and the bundled software kept crashing so I found Debut and after a trial managed to work out what was wrong in many of the settings. For one I'm in the UK so had to set it up for PAL M format rather than the NSCS or whatever it defaults to. So I got it working, kind of. I can import and the software looks and works smoothly. I'm impressed. The only issue seemed to be the image is in black and white. I thought maybe that was a limitation of the free version so I registered for the pro version. Alas it still happens.
