  1. Thank you verry much for this link, it allows to get rid of unwanted custom resolutions. But not the second question: Is there any means to reduce the original list to a set of individually preferred resolutions?
  2. At export you can select resolution from a drop box. If you use "Custom" you can set individual values. This functions well. At the next export, the new resolution is added to the list in the drop box. If you define custom values frequently, the drop box gets long and confusing. How can I get rid of custom values no more needed? Is there any means to reduce the original list to a set of individually preferred resolutions?
  3. This is a task for external programs called something like thumbnails maker. There are a lot of them out there freeware or for cheep price. I use 'Video Thumbnails Maker by Scorp', works very fine. Freeware is slower and places a logo on one of the snapshotts. Registered version is faster and is logo-free.
  4. Problem gelöst: Benötigte Befehlsfolge im englischen Forum. Ich hatte die Frage auch dort gestellt und Borate hat geholfen!
  5. Hi Borate, your suggestion ends up with symmetrical black bars all around the screen. Zoom and/or Letterbox export do not help. But Scale does! So 'Crop to Left' can be simulated by: first Crop X1 = 0.00 Y1 = 0.00 X2 = 90.00 Y2 = 100.00 then Position Horizontal = 5.00 Vertical = 100.00 0.00 then Scale Horizontal (ratio) = 1.11 Vertical (ratio) = 1.11 Base X = 0.00 Base Y = 0.00 Offset X = 0.00 Offset Y = 0.00 So my problem is solved! Thank you.
  6. Right click on a clip in the left window will open a list of commands you can apply to the original clip. 'Change Clip Aspect Ratio' opens a list of four options: Letter Box Crop Center Stretch Blur Padding I'm talking about the option 'Crop Center'. Clicking this option opens a list of predefined aspect ratios - I chose '16:10'. Then the whole clip is truncated on the left and on the right side by 5% symmetrically. In case the originally clip was 1920x1080 for example, the result will have the resolution 1728x1080. For export of this cropped clip you have to set the wanted resolution, chose 1920x1200 for example to fill usual monitors, which have this resolution. The result has no black bars around the scene. My question is: How can I manage not get the remaining middle part of the screen losing 5% on both sides but getting the left part and losing 10% on the right side only?
  7. I must crop 16:9 videos to 16:10 often. There is a standard command that crops 5% left and right, leaving the center of the image untouched. Most of the time, that's satisfying. But sometimes I would prefer to be able to cut off the whole 10% on one side only. I've tried several video effects, but I always end up with black bars on the left or the right side. Can someone explain to me how I could do this please?
  9. I use videopad 11.38 64Bit actually and I am happy with it! I have a nine years old desktop with I5-4670T, which is quite slow for editing videos. I wait buying a new one until Intel brings out I7 for desktops with new internal GPU like the mobile version (I7-12800H). During my editing work I would prefer to have access to the whole power of CPU and GPU. That means, all export tasks should use “free” performance only as long as editing tasks are in progress. If so, it would be nice to have an expanded choice when exiting videopad during export tasks are active: Exit directly = cancel all export tasks Exit automatically after all export tasks are completed Exit and shutdown PC after all export tasks are completed =================== Alternative for users with a slow pc like me: It would be nice to have the possibility of not starting export immediately but keeping it in a waiting list which you can start separately when you have finished editing.
  10. Congratulations, NCH is fast! You solved the problem with the “go to start” button in a very short time with v11.05 64bit. Now I will use this new version and it seems that you solved some other problems from v11.03 64bit at the same time. Some of the persisting problems can be reproduced safely, others seem to occur accidentally. Here is another unattended feature that is reproducible: When you chose an already existing filename for exporting, you get the warning “File already exists: <filename>” and you can activate “overwrite the file” (correct). If you change the wanted filename to another used name, the warning changes <filename> to the new name (correct). If you change the wanted filename to an unused name, the warning persists, and you still have the possibility to activate the overwrite – but this makes no sense anymore: confusing. v8.51 32bit I used for a long time was deleting the warning and the activation box correctly. The same behaviour is true for names that are used by export actually (“filename in use, unable to export: <filename>” (without opportunity to overwrite). There are some other unattended sporadic features I will have to explore for precise specification. One sporadic problem: if the cursor is between start and end and you press “next frame” button, sometimes (but not always) the cursor jumps to the end spontaneously. Outside of start to end no jumping occurs. Another sporadic problem: the preview sometimes is gap-toothed or even is black completely. After playing the preview regenerates. I will try to explore more precisely to exclude that it is a problem of my installation. I will install v11.05 on my notebook too (unlicensed) to exclude "local problems". It seems not to be video dependent. I’m happy with this new version 11.05 64bit because of its increased speed with respect to v8.51 32bit.
  11. Hi Borate, You asked for specification of bugs. One of them persisting on all three 64 bit version I tested (10.96; 11.01; 10.03): I set start and end. When the cursor is between start and end, the button 'Go to end' and the shortcut [Ctrl]+[End] functions correctly, but the button 'Go to start' and the shortcut [Ctrl]+[Pos1] brings me to the beginning of the whole video and not to the start being set. This behaviour is independant of the video. My pc: Intel Core I5-4670T (Haswell) and Intel HD Graphics 4600 (internal), Gigabyte H87N-WIFI, 8 GB ram, 2x SATA SSD 8one for System and cach of VideoPad), one for data. Windows 10 Pro 21H1 (Build 19043.1288). I use the English version of VideoPad 11.03 (64 bit) because it is newer than the actual German version. I use the German version of Windows 10 21H1 (Build 19043.1288). Another bug: VideoPad oftenly crashes partially, that means it is greyed out for some minutes (up to three minutes I observed) but restarts to work afterwards automatically. I found this oftenly during an export is aktive and I continue working in the editor. There are still other bugs, which you can define as 'feature': I try to elaborate these more precisely next week.
  12. I upgraded from v8.51 (32 bit) to v10.96 (64 bit). The speed of the 64 bit version (windows) is much higher than the 32 bit version. But v10.96 still has a some of bugs! I updated to v11.01 64 bit which even has more bugs and is not working correctly. Now v11.03 is out, but I can't find the 64 bit version of it on the site of NCH - and it is slower again than the 64 bit version I had. Please give advice how to search for and download the 64 bit versions of VideoPad, I can find the 32 bit versions only.
