  1. You try to refresh Express Scribe , clear C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Scribe\ then reinstall Express Scribe version for your license.
  2. You can find list of compatible foot pedal here: http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/scribe/win/inpdev-compatible.html
  3. You have to make sure that your System-Wide Hot-Keys is enable. Options then System-Wide Hot-Keys. You can also check this: https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10224.html
  4. Disconnect any external speaker or headphones and see if the audio works. You can also try the MP3 file on to a different media player, check if the audio works.
  5. Is your foot pedal detected when you try to set up? Try the steps here: https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10225.html "Please check that your audio hardware is functioning correctly and that Preferences -> Playback -> "Sound Device" has been correctly configured.????" - this is an error for no sound issue, not related to foot pedal.
  6. This is a possible bug but only Support can confirm. You can try to change playback speed, increase or decrease the speed and see which setting works for you. Go to Options then choose Playback.
  7. What's the version installed? Do you have an issue with a specific video file format?
  8. Unfortunately, there's none. Express Scribe supports SAPI 4 and SAPI 5 compliant voices which are developed by Windows. Safe to say that Express Scribe Speech to Text feature only works on Windows.
  9. If you do not see any engines in the pull-down list, then you have not fully installed your speech recognition software or it is not SAPI compliant. Express Scribe can use any SAPI (4.0 or 5.0) compliant speech recognition engine to assist you to transcribe recordings. For example: Dragon NaturallySpeaking (earlier version), Microsoft Voice or IBM Via Voice.
  10. Express Scribe does not control notification sound. Try to play a movie or music on any media player and use your foot pedal controls, see if the issue exist.
  11. Is it a DVD that you are using? Have you tried different DVD? If so, you can try the steps below: In Express Burn, open the Options window from the File Menu Check the box next to Use internal codec first Click the OK button to save and close the window You may also contact support from here: https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html
  12. https://www.nch.com.au/general/uninstall.html
  13. You seems to be on the right page. Any error when you add a shortcut?
  14. You have to make sure that you have Express Scribe Professional Edition license for your video file to load. For further help, you may contact support here: https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html
  15. You can try to go to Options, click on Disk Usage tab then follow the file path set on the Data Folder. You should be able to find files loaded to Express Scribe from here.
