i have tired to reinstall still does not work

So i have the FastFox trial version and i have set it all up on my mac and put in a shortcut to see if it will work but when i go to Microsoft Word or ExpressScribe and put in the shortcut it will not expand at all. I even put a space before and after the shortcut like it says to do. I also went on my system preferences and gave the program accessibility so that wouldn't be the issue. Does anyone have any idea whats going on and how i can fix it? Thanks!
