Shaldares

I have been trying to render a midi from a track by right clicking on the track and clicking render midi. The first time, I clicked on it, but couldn't find the midi track to edit. I tried right clicking on it again, and the option was grayed out. I highlighted the track and tried again, but nothing. Can someone help me figure out how to do this?
