    Voxal Plus v8.00

Aside using Voxal Plus to save the configured settings to render real-time voice effects, is it possible to re-use the configured parameters via the Equalizer and High-Pass Filter to be listed under the "Basic Effects" of WavePad toolbar so that I can re-use the same settings on next new voice recorded ?

    Please advise.

Hi @Ricky Gai, you can indeed re-use effects by adding the effects through the "Effects Chain" feature instead of adding them as a standalone effect.

You can access the "Effects Chain" option on the same menu level where the basic effects are available.

  2. Hi @rdeblock, for cases like this, you will want to break down the file into several smaller files so that when you burn them onto a CD, they would be separate files and you'd be able to skip from one track to another. You can utilize the bookmark to select the split points, and then use the "Split at Bookmarks" feature which can be accessed under WavePad > Edit tooolbar > Split > Split at Bookmarks.

In a piece I want the first few seconds to be at normal volume and then fade down to a lower (background) level, then a few seconds before the end fade back up to the normal listening level.

I can see how to to reduce a selection in the Amplifier section (but not fade down and fade up) and have tried the Equalliser section but that (as far as I can see) seems to alter various characteristics of the soud rather than just the levels.  But using the sort of graph option in Equalliser is what I would be looking for in straight forward level adjustment across the whole of a selected part.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hi! Your best option for this would be to simply use volume automation which can be accessed with MixPad <https://www.nch.com.au/mixpad/index.html>.

You may simply import the audio clip you are working on, and then draw your custom volume automation so that you can customize the levels to your preferred taste.

To remove clicks/pops I have been using the noise reduction tool and have been removing them manually when I see them. But there are some clicks and pops in the waves that I can hear but can't see to be able to remove them nor has the program identified them so they can be removed. Is there a way I can adjust the wave so I can see the clicks and pops that I can hear but have not been identified by the click/pop removal tool? Or what is the best way to do this?

Hi! WavePad does have an auto click/pop removal tool which can be accessed under WavePad > Menu> Tools > Remove Noise > Choose click/poppping options

However, please note that if these are naturally occurring clicks/pops (perhaps from mouth noises), the declicking tool may no longer remove this in order to preserve the integrity and natural sound of the recording.

How do I group my audio files an normalize them to match one file of my choice???

Hi! WavePad does have a batch normalizing feature which can be accessed when you use the batch converter. You'd be given the option to set your preferred loudness level.

However, setting these levels are to be done manually, and it is currently not possible to reference a specific audio and have all other audio files adhere to that level.

    Re large cache...

    Wavepad Version : Latest.

Ended up having the same issue, wavepad using up hundreds of gigs. After much research on wavepad tool, finally found a solution that worked for me. I wasn't able to access the Wavepad folder from Library/Application Support through folders navigation either.

    Solution that worked-

Open Wavepad>Settings >Audio> an option exists by field name, "Cache File Retention" towards the bottom of the pop-up and options like within 28 days/14 days/upon exit. There is button to delete the cache files "Delete unused cache files now". Without having to clean up manually, I used this option to clean the Library/Application Support/Wavepad folder of unused files.

Hopefully it works for a few.

    Thank you-

Hi @Sappy, thanks for this input! Yes, this is indeed the method to clear our cache storage that's being taken up by the application. We'd recommend though that projects be backed up first before performing these cache deletions as it could also result in unwanted data loss.

    Blessings!

Hi. thanks for answering my question!

"Using the link for the software version covered by your license." I don't quite get what that means. I just downloaded the free version and bought the license and used the registration code. Is it the same thing or am I overthinking things?

Another query is would this process of changing between computers is endless, meaning I can just change between computers anytime and as many time as I want?

Hi there @mannotter, if you have purchased a license for our software in 2016 or later, updates are free for up to six months from the registration date. If you do not wish to upgrade your license, you can use that perpetually. If you decide to upgrade to a newer version after the free six-month period, you will need to pay a fee (at a discounted rate if you have the old registration code from your initial purchase).

You can read more about this policy through this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html> under "Problems When Activating/Registering".

  8. Hi!

We understand that some of you are experiencing concerns with SoundTap.

Due to the wide array of hardware drivers for Windows-based laptops, there's a tendency for some models to be not supported at the moment.

However, we are continually working on further expanding our array of supported hardware.

If you need immediate and direct assistance, you may head to this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html> to open a support ticket.

  9. Hi @LICRYNO, thanks for reaching out.

We'd be happy to help you with the issue you're facing. To better assist you, could you please share the original file and the converted file that's causing the problem? Additionally, let us know the specific settings you used for the conversion.

To share the files, you can use a cloud storage service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer, and then provide us with the link for access.

A quick tip: It's always a good practice to keep a separate copy of your original files before overwriting them during conversions. This way, you can avoid any potential data loss in case of errors during the process.

  11. Hi! There could be several reasons for this but perhaps we can start with the most common possibilities.

Do you receive any error messages when this happens? Does it happen to ALL recordings?

You may also want to check out your device's available storage space.

    Keep in touch. Stay safe!

I just started using Focusrite 2i2 gen 3 with this, which works very well, except now it will not record past about 1 or 2 minutes. I have turned the silence threshold all the way down and it still does it. Anyone have an idea why??????

Hi, I purchased VideoPad Video Editor years ago back in 2016, and even had a registration code. And this year, my video editor has been endlessly lagging and loading like crazy, and I realized that the version I had was v4.58 and I looked up what the latest version was and it's v10.27, so it turns out I've been using an outdated version for so long and the video editor itself NEVER gave me the option to update the software. So I decided to download the latest version, however, it's asking me for a registration code if I already purchased it, but the issue is that I don't remember what my registration code was nor do I know how to find it anymore, and I don't want to have to purchase it all over again all because I had an outdated version that refused to update.

Thank you. Is there some precise guide or a video?

Hi @Tamutka, you may find this useful as it shows a demonstration of how you can mix two (or more) clips.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbdEjOVTpo0

If you experience any troubles, you may also send to us the audio clips you wish to work on so that we can load them on a MixPad project and prepare a draft project for you.

If you'd like to send your files, kindly use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) of your choice then please send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you for such a quick answer. But if i have to change programs, I can use Audacity as well. I thought it is possible to combine in Wavepad.

Hi @Tamutka, technically, it is possible to combine two audio tracks (as in have them play together at the same time) with the Paste+Mix tool as you have mentioned, however, this does not grant you absolute control because what Paste+Mix does it combine the two audio tracks' frequency data into one audio track.

Think of it as merging two audio clips into one.

Whereas, when you use a multi-track software like MixPad, the two clips remain individual, and you retain complete control over the original files.

It's just in the final output that they are mixed together, but you can always adjust them later on, since they continue to be independent files.

  16. Hi!

We're happy to have you with us today. We hope you're doing well.

Kindly send us a screenshot of the export settings you've used (showing 32bit) then the resultant file which saves as 16bit despite using 32bit as the export format.

Please use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) then send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files.

Also, you may open a support ticket through this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html> if you need immediate and direct assistance.

I recorded midi output on one track but need to put in 16 tracks to work with notation software. Have to be missing something here?

Hi! Can you confirm if the notation software you are trying to use is Crescendo from NCH as well, or is it from another developer?

NCH Crescendo supports MIDI importing and you can learn more about it through this link <http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/crescendo/win/playback.html>

Do let us know if this addresses your concerns.

Years ago I created tracks for use in a tribute band. I still have the wav files of the finished tracks. But that computer is long since gone. Can the mpdp files be recover to modify the tracks or is it a lost cause?

    Hi!

Unfortunately, this is not possible, as .MPDP (MixPad project files) are separate files in itself and they are not embedded onto exported WAV files.

Moving forward, we recommend that you regularly backup your data and perform routine restores also in order to be sure that you will be always to revert to your old data in the case of an accidental data wipeout on your computer.

  20. Hi @degarb,

The option to enable/disable automatic stopping of SoundTap recording is currently no longer available.

However, you may check out older versions of the program which may still have this option available.

    For WIndows:
    http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/soundtap-3-00-2016-08-06.exe

    For MacOS:
    http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/soundtap-2-39-2015-12-23(Intel).zip

NOTE: After downloading the installer, you will need to DISCONNECT your computer from the internet so that it does not auto-update to a newer version.
