Thank you for your reply. Might be I could not explain clearly what I meant. There is question of a situation when there is one 1/2 note and straight beneath that should be a 1/4 note. I cannot place beneath the 1/2 note another with a different value. Could you please advice how to do it?

Could please get advise on how to create a combination of notes where are: - two tied eighth-notes one after another, with stems up -one quarter-note straight beneath the first eighth-note, stem down? I think I have tried hours but never found out how it goes.
