Thanks Chris...is there any way to adjust the encoding process so that I can get two files the size I need?

I split a 28 MgB mp3 into two files in order to have smaller files to upload to another application. The resulting two mp3 files were 25 & 24 MgB respectively...I was expecting two of about 14 MgB. What am I missing here?
