update performing a windows update fixed the issue

i installed voxal and tried to use it to be told that no audio was being heard (discord), after uninstalling voxal my mic still does not produce sound on discord. I've gone into the control panel sound settings and the mic bar next to my mic does not say it is picking up sound and it is set as my default communication device and its drivers are up to date. Discord is also set to my mic as input device. I am unsure how to fix this problem.
