I figured it out! It had to do with so much Dropbox being mirrored off my C drive. I moved the synching to an external drive and all worked well~

I just downloaded a new version 11.29 and paid another 40$ after purchasing a version last year. I only use this once a month at most. And then I delete the file. Once up and running, registered and all, I uploaded an audio file I wanted to amplify. I keep getting the annoying box that says I need to free up disc space without giving me any directions. I try to open "recent files" and delete them but this does nothing to help me. I have no idea how to free up disc space and can find no tutorial. It is very frustrating. Please help if you can. ~
