Hello, When I copy a sound-file into the audio track the video clips above are shifted to the right, How can I prevent this?

If I create a video several videotracks they are merged together and it is difficult to change it later. When I save a project, all informations are kept and when I reload it I can continue to change it. How can join two such projects?
