    WAV vs MP3

Yeah making the wave form visible larger works with one audio track but with 2 or more all it does is drag the audio timelines up and down the screen. As for jumping around the track , it was just a comment on how I found that feature useful to the way I edit. Thank you for all your time though 🙂

    WAV vs MP3

I have deleted the files now and only have the one that works for me. As for the part about jumping around the timeline project, its not what I require, sure its easy to to fit the entire project onto the screen but then if you want to change something at that point chosen you probably will have to resize the screen again to be able to fine tune settings. Just remembered another issue and that was it would be nice to be able to expand the view of the wave forms , it would make it so much easier to located a sync point. Yes you can zoom in put then wav form becomes blocky. I was used to being able to grab the audio time line and expand up or down to adjust just the view of the audio. I think there used to be an option too to turn off thumbnail clips of video, replacing them with colour and name of file. This I believe helped quicken things up...….Like I say its not a criticism, I will have to work with the way it works and yes I am a licenced user. Is the latest version stable? anyway of finding out what tweeks you have made from one version to another ? I am on 8.56 at the moment and I saw a recent post that you advised against this version ??

    WAV vs MP3

Hi, newcomer to Videopad but had experience with other programs, mainly Premiere. I started back in the late 90s when non linear was just about affordable and large Hard drives were 4GB !!!! if you had 2 or 3 you were god ! Anyway its been a while since using an edit system and I chose Videopad as it looked familiar although there are a few bit missing I would like to see back. My first try with Videopad was ok so I tried to edit my bands rehearsal , this consisted of 4 video tracks each on its own timeline and an audio track in WAV format on a spare audio timeline. It became impossible to edit as the preview screen wouldn't show video, just a static frozen frame. Anyway in the end I managed to put one song together at around 3 1/2 minutes with a few transitions and efx, nothing too fancy. I then messed around with settings and looked through this forum for answers but may have stumbled across it by trial and error. I removed the WAV audio and the video played while scrubbing through the time line and general editing . So I replaced the WAV file with another WAV file.....same thing happened, impossible to use. I removed WAV file again and all was good once more. I then converted the Wav file to MP3, placed it on timeline and hey ho! its all good.....well so far anyway, lets just hope it stays that way. The thing I am missing most is in Premiere there used to be a small window with the whole project in, so if you wanted to quickly go from one part of the project to lets say 75% up the time line , you would just click on the area and it would take you there. With Videopad the only way I have found so far is to manually scroll though unless I am missing something. All in all its not too bad so far. Regards.
  4. Why avoid 8.56 ? , I have just purchased it and that’s the version I have ! I have to say it’s not without its issues.... mainly almost impossible to edit as the preview screen rarely works. Its ok with one timeline but after that forget it.
