  1. I Bought the Wavepad Sound Editor Masters Edition, nine days ago and registered it, properly. Today, my messages say, my trial will be ending soon. It seems, there is no way to contact, NCH. I am not a happy, American. What is the solution for this dilemma?

Ronnie, You have purchased the software and received the emails containing your invoice, serial numbers and emails. Have you read these emails. In all of these emails you are given the following information in one form or another.

"Technical Support: If you have difficulty using your software, please read the manual (Help->Help Contents) including the Troubleshooting Problems page. To contact our technical support department, please follow the instructions on the manual or view www.nch.com.au/support. When contacting our technical support team, please include your registration ID to ensure you receive priority support."

You are also given a direct link in the Name/Location/ID Key email that states the following.

"If this code does not work for any reason please see http://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html for solutions to registration related problems."

This last link takes you directly to the FAQ page for registration and purchase issues and if you cannot locate a solution to your issue on this page, there are seveal places there where you are given a link to contact support directly.

    The link is http://www.nch.com.au/support/regcontact.html

I would ask that you firstly read through our FAQ page and then if you still have issues contact us from the form link above.

  2. The use of the Magic Jack telephony system with NCH telephony software

    Hi Forum Users,

I would like to find out if any of our US software users and supporters have had the oportunity to test out any of the NCH Telephony Suite with the new Magic Jack VoIP system? I have had an enquiry in regards to this and as this system will only work in the United States I have not been able to perform any testing with it myself. Any input from you would be welcome. Thank you for your time.

    Regards

  6. In regards to this out of synch issue. I have passed your information on to our testers who will see if they can replicate and find a solution for you. If one cannot be found then we will inform our developers of a bug that we will work on fixing for a future release of the software.

  7. If you read the header of the forum you will see it clearly states

"Our Technical Support team will, on a best efforts basis, review posts and answer questions. However, this forum is designed to be self-help and relies on the Debut community to answer users' posts."

If you want technical support then you will need to contact the support team via the forms on our FAQ pages. If you would like Priority support then you can also purchase a support package.

So much for netiquette ... pfft.

... & for the NCH Software Support Forums "team" ... one boneheaded "reply" after more than 4 months with absolutely nothing from the so-called "team" is inspiring zero interest in your commercial software titles.

I'm running the camera on a 2.4GHz P4 now, still w/ W2k Pro (leaner, meaner & faster) but it's got a gig of RAM, ATA133 drives, etc. It's a very snappy computer that runs everything else I can throw at it just fine, but I'm still having audio/video sync issues.

Be aware ... people actually will pay for software, but in a world that's bloated with crap code it's wise to test & troubleshoot first. It's a shareware thing ... try before you buy, & I'm seeing no reason to buy.

  8. Thanks for the suggestion. I am adding it to the list of suggested new features for a future release of GoldenRecords.

Seems that there is no solution, only a workaround: record all tracks you want, edit them and then burn to a mp3-Cd. And then copy them back to your harddisk. All who wants this feature should address to NCH so that we can expect that in one of the next releases.

(I am a new bee too, but anyway: i have checked out all documentation that is available.....)

  9. We have no set date when we will be supporting software on the 64bit operating systems.

Specifically in regards to this post, have you tried GoldenVideos to convert your VHS tapes to digital format. If not give it a try, its free.

    http://www.nchsoftware.com/goldenvideos/index.html

I have almost exhausted efforts for manipulating the sound when I play the video, and when I playback the recorded video. I can SEE what I recorded, but I hear no sound while PLAYING the video, or while playing BACK what I recorded.

Microphone isn't what I want, as I'm trying to record from a VHS tape (using Dazzle100 VHS to PC/DVD converter hardware) to my PC and then will create a DVD.

Without sound while playing or after recording, I don't know what else to do. Could some kind person/soul please help me out with what settings I need for sound input and output?

  10. Our versions page has not yet been upgraded with the latest version information. The latest version available for download on our site is version 1.51 which was released earlier this month.

I'm using Switch Plus 1.42. When I click on the Check for Updates option under Help, it tells me there is a new version available, but when the web page loads the latest version appears to be 1.42.

Is this just a bug in the update check, or is it possible there has been an update to the 1.42 version on the website without a change in the version number? Just curious, thanks...

  11. Hi,

The BILL TO field may be blank but by default the customer you choose to create the invoice for will go into the BILL TO field and therefore will not appear blank. The SHIP TO field however is only used when the person being billed is different to the person receiving the goods. So you can leave this field blank and you will only have one address listed on the invoice as you have asked. Please note that you MUST have version 2.04 installed for this to function in this way. I have tested this myself and am getting the desired results.

  12. I have raised this subject with our developers already and we are looking into possible changes to the way the software is closed.

As soon as I saw the subject I knew what the problem was and what would probably be the answer. I was right. I have already, "Disabled the "Run RecordPad and start recording when computer starts" option in the Startup section.", but that has not fixed the problem. I want to open RP when I want to use it and then shut it down when I am done, not leave it running in the Systray, and I want to do it with the fewest possible motions.

The problem can be seen in the program itself. Click on the File menu and you see there are two options for shutting down, one for Exit (Close to tray) and Exit (Turn Off). Problem is that clicking on the actual Exit button, you can only (Close to tray). When I choose Exit, I mean to EXIT, not almost exit. When I want to start RP, I want to use the icon on my Launch Bar, not search for it in the Systray

  13. It really depends on what kind of ringtones you want to make. If your phone will use a simple MP3 or WAV file as a ringtone then yes Switch is all you need. When it comes to specialty formats for ringtones like the iPhone ringtone format, M4R switch is not yet compatible with these formats so you would need other software to create your ringtones.

I hope this information has helped.

I am new to this forum. I like Switch. I can transform music from my many glass '78's, and vinyl 33 1/3 and 45 rpms. Using Switch, I can turn the songs/files into a format that iTunes can use, and my iPod Touch.

My question is ring tones. I would like to create my own using my own music. Is Switch the right software for this task? Or does NCH Software make a different software for this task? I don't care whether it is free or not. I want to make my own ring tone. Is my Switch all I need? If not, what do I need?

Thank you for your time in reading this. :)

  14. Hello there, folks, what seems to have coincided with a new darker colour for the 'sound waves' on the screen, is an annoying problem of the very things needed not being there, these are the save and save as options, they are greyed out. Now, come on, hit me on the chin, yes, I have been a consistent scrounger for years, deleting when 'time's up' and reinstalling faster than Craig Charles can eat a binlid full of curry and chips. Is this the problem, is my time 'really up' and I have to buy something? Or is this some sort of problem I have here? Or a problem with Wavepad? Thanks. Mr Bojangles

    Hey there,

We also have noticed this small bug and are working on a fix as we speak. In the mean time there is a work around. Try highlighting part of the wave form and then check the file menu, the save and saveas options should not be present. Do not be concerned that this will only save the highlighted part of the wave form, the entire file will be saved.

I do hope this helps you until we have the fix ready for relese.

  15. Does anyone Know?

I have purchased a copy of switch plus and I know that I will getting a new computer in my office in the new few weeks, Can the serial # be transferred to the new computer?

    Has anyone done it?

    thanks!

    Thomster

Yes this is possible, you will need to uninstall from the current computer before installing and registering on the new PC. Make sure you install from the original installer that you have downloaded from the web site at the time of purchase. If you are reinstalling more than 28 days after you first activated the serial number you may need to have it reset. Please contact technical support directly in regards to this from the following form. http://www.nch.com.au/support/regcontact.html

  16. I've made some voice recordings with WavePad and saved them as Mp3 files , none of them very long. When I go to copy them to a disk it either doesn't recognize them or in one case recorded only 1 of 6 files. Any ideas?

    steve

Did you use the "Burn Cd" button from within WavePad? If so did you make sure that all the tracks you wanted to burn to the CD appeared in the ExpressBurn window?

  17. I've got a piece of music written for tenor sax and want to increase the pitch to 110% to put it into a key I can play on the flute but when I do the end result loses the last ten seconds of the recording. I've tried converting the original into various formats but the end result is the same.

Is there any way around this?

    Thanks

Have you tried putting some blank space at the end of the file before you do the conversion? Just add some silence to the end of the file to extend the running time and then change your pitch and see if you get the last 10 seconds

  18. I have a little more information now.

Apparently the issue must be codec related. After you hit "convert" it will begin decoding the .DSS file, and it will immediately error out during the converting process. I tried it with various codecs on my machine with mixed results. Some of them just couldn't seem to handle it any more for whatever reason. The reason this strikes me as odd is because initially I had no problem decoding using these codecs. Now, all of a sudden, they don't work any more.

I'm certain I could find another codec that works and live with it, but my concern is for the other people that I'm testing it for - I'm wondering why some of the codecs are 'breaking' after a few uses.

It seems strange that these codecs have stopped working after a while, the only thing i can think of is that they have been removed or become corrupted for some reason. What format codecs are you having the trouble with?

  19. The OGM plays and then if you don't talk loud and right away it gives you a recording time out or silence detected error and hangs up. I have a Cahta. I have tried all the settings for the enable tone detect. How do you make it stay connected even if there is silence. We want it to wait at least 10 seconds before it hangs up no matter what. 4.03 on xp

    Clicking the settings button

    Select the Telephony tab

Select the incoming line (for multiple incoming lines you will need to perform this action separately for each)

    Click Properties

In the properties window reduce the 'End-of-Call Detect Delay(ms) from 4500 to 500

Click ok twice to get out of the setting window.

This should fix the problem for you.

  20. I just purchased the latest version of Swift 1.24 on my Vista machine and I can't seem to get Swift to automatically return my converted files (WMA to MP3) to the source folder.

I looked up the support info and found:

    P. How do I select the output folder to be the same as the source folder

From the application interface you can choose [same as source file] from the Output dropdown box.

I don't have "[same as source file]" in the Output dropdown box and when I manually put it there I get an error message: "You do not have the required permission to write to the specified output directory".

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

What is the folder that you are trying to write to? Make sure that you have write permissions on the folder that you are trying to write too.
