    Hi

I think you are almost there....

    • Drag the clip to Track 1
    • Click FX and select Stretch to Aspect Ratio from the Aspect Ration and Transform section
    • Select an AR of 16:9  This will stretch the clip horizontally to fill the frame
    • Add the Blur effect
    • Drag the same clip from the clip bin and drop it on the overlay track. This should be all you need to do.....

    e.g...

       aa.jpg

    Export as any 16:9 video.

    Good morning!

Thank you for getting back and sorry for the late reply.

I did what you mentioned but nothing.

When I re-add the video to overlay (and goes Track 2) it doesn't show the background at all !!!

I still get to see the black bars on the right and left.

    I use VideoPad Pro 8.42

First of all:  what version of Videopad is being used?

If a recent release, is preview in MATCH SOURCE or MATCH MONITOR mode?  The latter will give a better representation of what the export will be as PV will match your monitor's resolution.

Before you drop the clip to the sequence, right-click it and choose EFFECTS.  Click the large green + sign, then scroll to the Aspect Ratio Transforms area.  Click LETTERBOX.

Now scale the track one clip to fill the frame, or try Nat's method below in lieu of Letterboxing, and add the clip to track 1.  Add the clip just as is to track 2.

If not, share the project (not the export) here and someone will check it out.  It's easy and takes little time.

    Here's how...  http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/

If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM).  Click the envelope above.  It won't be passed on or retained.  Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.

  3. Hi,

I want to make a video for youtube. The video is vertical so I don't want the black bars (right, left) to be shown. Therefore I followed the instructions, duplicated the video, added it in Video Track 1 & Video Track 2, applied the effects Scale and Blur on Video Track 1 (is the lower Video Track).

While the Sequence Preview shows the video exactly the way I want it when I'm exporting it to 1080p mp4 it's all wrong! I don't get the result I want...

In Clip Preview though I don't see the result I want.

I think I'm missing something but don't know what.

Any help would be very much appreciated!
