The suggested solution presumes that one doesn't use the SoundTap application. I have used it successfully since Windows XP days. I am now using Windows10. I had an issue with the stdriver64.sys driver for the first time only this morning, after a Windows 10 update last night. For this reason, I suspect that there is an incompatibility between the stdriver64.sys and a new Microsoft component. And it wouldn't be the first time that a Microsoft update has ignored compatibility with other software applications when pushing out an update.
