  1. Hello Chris75. Thank you for responding. Would you suggest I contact Sony and ask them about this foot pedal's compatibly with NCH transcription software?
  2. I am on a fixed income as of the time of the posting of this thread and I am shopping around looking for a cheap foot pedal online that is compatible with NCH software.
  3. Hi. As of the time of the posting of this, someone on Ebay is selling a Sony FS-85 USB foot pedal on Ebay for $20. Is this foot pedal compatible with NCH's transcription software? I have Express Scribe and NCH Suite installed on my laptop. Someone please let me know - I would like to buy the foot pedal as soon as possible. I already sent away for a pair of transcription headphones. Thank you.
  4. How do I actually do the transcription work? Am I just supposed to listen to the practice transcription files and copy what I hear verbatim?
  5. Hi. I figured out how to add the Express Scribe practice transcription audio files, which I downloaded off this site, to Express Scribe, and listen to them. Where do I go from here? How and where do I get the transcription work done?
  6. Hello N_C_H_josh. How are you? No, there are completed transcription files on https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice.html , a list of pdf files: https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-1.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-2.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-3.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/JonesLegal.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-4.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-5.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/completed-transcription-6.pdf https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice/JonesMedical.pdf
  7. Hi. Thank you for responding N_C_H_josh. I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfAqdo67Tts This video explains how to add the audio files to Express Scribe Transcription Pro, and how to access them in the program. Do I need the completed transcription files I downloaded?
  8. Okay. How do I add the transcription files- the audio files and completed transcription files- I downloaded to Express Scribe Transcribe Software Pro? Also, when I click on the icon on my PC to NCH Suite, the window pops up with a page under the "Dictation" tab. Under "Dictation" there's text that reads: "Express Dictate Dictation Software Digital dictation software to record and send dictation for transcription directly from your computer, or dock and send dictation from a portable device." and next to this text on the far right is a green tab that says "Open App". Under this there's text that says: "FastFox Typing Expander Use this text expansion software to create keyboard shortcuts that will expand to an entire word, sentence, paragraph or document. A useful time saving tool." and next to this is an green tab that says "Open App". Do I need these programs?
  9. Hello Tech Support. Thank you for answering. No, I also asked, "What's the function and purpose of NCH Suite?" I am using Express Scribe Transcribe Software Pro. Where is the question mark icon that links to the manual in the window for the program you're referring to? I do not see a question mark icon in the upper right hand corner of the window.
  10. Is there someone on this site who can please tell me how to use these two programs? Someone who can please give me some kind of walkthrough? I don't know what the heck I am doing. Please respond soon- thank you.
  11. Hello. I recently downloaded Express Scribe Transcription Software from here: https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice.html And NCH Suite. The version of the Express Scribe software I downloaded was free and it's labelled on my PC as "Express Scribe Transcribe Software Pro (Unlicensed) Non-commercial home use only". NCH Suite was additional free software that was downloaded when I downloaded Express Scribe Transcribe Software Pro to my PC. Was "Non-commercial home use only" the right option to pick since I am using the software for free? I also downloaded all the free Express Scribe Transcription Files from https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice.html - all the audio files and completed transcription files. How do I add these files to Express Scribe Transcribe Software Pro and load them? What's the function and purpose of NCH Suite? I am still trying to familiarize myself with both pieces of software. Please help- thank you.
  12. Hello N_C_H_josh, how are you? Thank you for responding. So the link given at "Get Express Scribe FreeThe free version of Express Scribe supports most common audio formats including wav, mp3, wma, aif and dct and does not expire, making it perfect for learning before moving to the professional version. Download the free version here." and the one given at "Download Express Scribe Transcription Playback SoftwareDownload Express Scribe for WindowsDownload Express Scribe for Mac" on the bottom of the web page at https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice.html and the one given here at "Please download the demo before contacting us. It's quick and helps answering many questions. Download the program now" on the Technical Support page all link to the same program- correct? What is the program linked to on https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html where it says "Download Now"?
  13. Hi. I am interested in working as a work-from-home transcriptionist and I am interested in using the Express Scribe Practice Transcription Files on https://www.nch.com.au/scribe/practice.html, but I am confused. Near the top of that page it says, "Get Express Scribe Free The free version of Express Scribe supports most common audio formats including wav, mp3, wma, aif and dct and does not expire, making it perfect for learning before moving to the professional version. Download the free version here." But at the bottom it says, "Download Express Scribe Transcription Playback Software Download Express Scribe for Windows Download Express Scribe for Mac" What is the difference between "Express Scribe" at the top of the page and "Express Scribe Transcription Playback Software"? Do both links on this page lead to the same program, or are they two different programs? I tried to send this question using the Scribe Technical Support page, but it's asking me to download a demo program before I send the question. What demo program are they talking about? I also see this on that Technical Support page: "Please download the demo before contacting us. It's quick and helps answering many questions. Download the program now" Professional technical support is for customers who have purchased our software. Buy the program now to get support. What program or programs is this referring to? I wanted to call in to the company and speak to a live tech support rep with this issue, but the Platinum Support Line is for paid customers only. Please let me know. Thank you. Sincerely, J.G.
