  1. Hello! I wanna ask if there's someone here that knows any possible alternative for RGB Split Effect for VideoPad. Currenlt using v7.10 since there was a bug with some effects on v7.32.

Is there a way to use the current video effects to recreate the RGB Split, or is there any plug-in that makes this certain transition?

I hope someone can recommend something useful as soon as possible, because this needs to be used for a certain project.

  2. If your videos have different ARs, that was bound to happen with Videopad that has the Widescreen Fit option. I got past on that problem already, and the solution is a bit complicated.

If in any chance you can send your project file, please post the link here.

I can help you with this, I think. But this was a bit of a wrong timing because I am in a vacation for a week starting tomorrow.

  3. Probably it will only happen on the preview. Try exporting it and see if the out-of-sync problem still happens. Sometimes it's just VP can't keep up with the layers of video/audio played at the same time in the preview window. CPU/GPU/RAM can be also the cause, or programs like DirectX or similar.

  4. Just in case if this haven't been solved yet or have approached another issue... I'll just leave a reply here..

I think there's really a bug that can happen on your preview window, but if it also gets bugged out in the export, maybe you need to check the FPS on both preview and in the export settings.

About the still image being present while a transition is happening, is it a slowed down clip? It really does happen sometimes if your clip goes lower than 50% to 25% of speed.

I can only read the conversation you have here. Sometimes there is a case where the files from the camera itself was the one to make it act strange. Also the speed. Note that slowing down a clip can make a clip jumpy as like it just hit a shockwave in slow motion. If my math is correct...

    X*Y

We'll substitute Y as 0.15 since Nationalsolo mentioned.

If your main file runs at 100FPS, that'll result in a 15 frames per second at 15% speed. You won't feel anything becoming a still image for this one.

At 50FPS, it will be 7.5 frames per second. This is where you'll feel that there was some still images.

At 30FPS, the problem with still frames might occur, as it only shows 4.5 frames per second on a 15% clip speed. 9 frames on a span of 2 seconds to be honest.

I hope this bit of info can help you solve the problem.

Also, I wish to look at your project file, but I cant. One of the clips was 2GB in size, and I had a data limit that I need to save, so I can't look at your file.

Also, if there was some moments that a millisecond blank view occurs, check if there were no gaps on the timeline. I have some problems on those when I got multiple layers of video on my timeline, and have like a millisecond between splits.

Howdy, how do you fully unsubscribe from VideoPad Video Editor? I signed up for the $3.89/month option today, and I saw the email only say,

"To make changes to your NCH Software subscription, log in to your PayPal account, go to Profile, and click My Money. Update your agreement with NCH Software in the "My pre-approved payments" section,"

But I don't have a PayPal account. I plan to unsubscribe in the next month or two. Please advise. Thanks!

It depends on what you have used to subscribe to their monthly plan. If you used a card, then you should contact the bank which manages the funds on your card. If you can't get to contact the bank, you can contact NCH staff via a Support form on their website so they can cancel it for you. Processing the cancellation might take up to 5-7 business days I guess

    Hello Nationalsolo,

Thank you for your reply :). I agree that this would be the simplest way. But I do not know how to record two videos at the same time into two separate video files. I use OBS Studio for recording. According to my researches, this is the simplest way to do it. But the editing software was premiere from adobe.

The reason I want to do it like that is that I want to scale the webcam video occasionally. And it needs to be recorded at the same time.

Is there no way to do it?

    Thanks again.

I know there is a way to Record the webcam while recording the entire screen using OBS Studio itself. You just need to make your webcam view to be at the top of the Monitor/Everything view. Just like how the streamers do.

However, if you want the webcam view to move in positions without repositioning them real-time, recording in VideoPad will be best for this task, but due to the bug you are experiencing, which actually was the same bug as mine, maybe I can help you with this.

Although the scenario wasn't as same as mine, here's what I can suggest as a remedy. This remedy works on VP7.10 though.

    1. Get a 1920x1080 still image.

    2. Apply Transparency Effect to it before dragging it to the timeline. This is to save time applying the same effect over 2 or more of the same layer. Apply effect on the image by right-clicking it, then Effects (if I remember correctly). Set transparency to 0, which is completely transparent.

    3. Drag it to the timeline, and make it to be the bottom-most layer. Make the clip length the same length as the entire project. When I tried to make the transparent objects in the bottom-most layers shorter, the "Resolution Override" remedy (or this remedy) won't work. Atleast 2 copies of this track is recommended, as long as it outnumbers the count of your larger resolution videos. Since you have 2 layers of 3840x1080 in your scene, add atleast 3 1920x1080 Fully-Transparent Images on the bottom-most layers. The length of the image must be as long as the full length of the video itself. For example, if your whole video is 20 seconds, the clip with full transparency must be 20 seconds also.

I hope this remedy helps you with your current project.

(Just had school minutes from now, so I can't include images to the step-by-step tutorial for One-Pass only Resolution Override Remedy. I will make a step-by-step image tutorial here later.)

  7. Another finding has been made.

Seems like VP is looking for the largest Resolution if there were only 2 layers enabled, but looks for the most used resolution for the fitting of each element.

I reverted back the project file to the state wherein it was the same as the one that I sent, but I added the same 1920x1080 image on the bottom-most layer. I named them OL1 and OL2. This is to outnumber the 2 layers that has 1920x1200. There is now two 1920x1200 and three 1920x1080 layers present on the timeline. The output however seemed to be corrected. I might call this a solution, but it's not friendly in workspace. Haven't tried to have the OL layers shortened though, if the bug will appear after the time of the OL layers have ended or will it stay as it was as solved?

Edit: It seems like if you shorten the time of the OL clips(which makes it as the major resolution), that it was shorter than the time of the clip itself, the bug goes back.

  8. I have found some bug signs. This time, it happens to appear depending on the order of your layers and not just the size of your image per layer.

The bug that has been said before was in this order in layers: Layer 1 has 1920x1080, and Layers 2 and 3 has 1920x1200. Disabling either Layer 2 or 3 do not make any difference in this case. Note that Layer 3 is the top layer.

However, making the Layer 1 as the top layer, then disabling 1 of the 2 1920x1200 layers seems to fix the problem, and renders exactly what is in the preview window before rendering. But in this case, I included a Transparency Effect so the background elements can be seen even if it was meant to be at the topmost layer.

Although when I leave the layers enabled, the bug is still present. Seems like one layer is being outnumbered by the others, and that makes the scaling-down of the other elements, which was the function of the Widescreen Fit.

I'm still experimenting with the bug. Will keep you guys updated with the findings.

  9. Just found a workaround that can fix the current situation. However, it is not recommended to do with actual photos on the same scene.

It took 3 passes before it got done.

Pass 1 have all elements uncropped and have no effects other than the Animated Position. Resolution must be set to Auto-Match Content (Non-Forced)

Pass 2 will require the user to Crop Pass 1 to 16:9 Ratio.

Pass 3 will require Zoom Effect application. The attributes must be set to 5,5,95,95 in their respective order.(X1,Y1,X2,Y2)

I have been uploading the .apng files to the same shared folder right now. They are named with Video Pass Number at the end. They are with the .apng with Trial as their file names. They will be available soon.

Here's the shared folder's link. Just in case you might need it without scrolling into the first instance of this link: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-1pd0Z9S4Nn0oSnFEaOHG38DyevDRtjK

Please upload the project to a free server, such as MS OneDrive, share it and paste the shared link here,  so someone can attempt to duplicate your result.

    Here's how...   http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/

Specifically, where do you see the "resize video" option.

The file is in here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1--i9j5KHnrDtPdbUh_CoH-8-9C5AloOu

The Resize Video option was beside the Video Format Dropdown Box (it was a hyperlink text type).

I have a NOTE.txt file that indicates which test was in the 3 .apng files that I rendered. Trial 1 don't have the bug shown, but Trial 2 and 3 does.

    Hi

Are you using Auto Match Content setting for the resolution . The default here will be 1920 x 1200 for both clips. So the larger clip (1920 x 1080) will be "reduced" to 1920 x 1200.

If you set other resollution (including Auto match values) one or other of the clips will have a border. I don't think this is a bug as both clips have different ARs and something must give if you don't want a border.

    Nat

I think I have seen that option somewhere but disabled it, but I might have missed it. Cannot remember correctly as I did it yesterday night.

I will run another test for today.

  11. WINDOWS VERSION: 10

    VP VERSION: 7.10 WINDOWS RELEASE

Hello! I have encountered a bug wherein the rendered video do not exhibit the result that is seen in the preview of the VP project. Here's the details:

I have 2 images. One is 1920x1080, and one is 1920x1200. When I only have the 1920x1080 before rendering the whole video, it renders perfect. But when I have the 1920x1200 added, the problem do exist in a way that the 1920x1080 image shrinks.

I have Zoom and Animated Position on the effect of the 1920x1200 image to animate a loop, but even without the effects, the problem still exists.

Here's a bit of a word summary of the bug.

    2 Images

         - 1 1920x1080 image

         - 1 1920x1200 image

    Problem

         - 1920x1080 image shrinks in all directions when the 1920x1200 image is added. It appears that the vertical sides is the basis of the resizing because the image boundaries of 1920x1080 is aligned in the vertical sides of 1920x1200 image. This bug still appears even if you disabled the Resize Video option.
