Indeed 4.02 does fix this Thanks Giles

I'm newbie, having just downloaded installed 4.01 yesterday, and cannot get the SMTP email to work at all. It just doesn't seem to connect to either my local SMTP server (on the same machine), nor directly. Its certainly not clear in the docs how direct SMTP works, does this mean it has its own SMTP server listening on port 25, if so this would be a bad thing if I'm also running a SMTP server on the same machine.
