  1. Hi.

One issue I've had for quite a while now is that sometimes (especially in complicated projects), the frame rate on some sequence(s) are low. I normally do 60fps videos so that really shows.

I've managed to create a small Project where I can replicate this issue every time. Could you have a look at it?

In this one the issue happens right at the beginning, but usually I have this happening later in the exports. Might be the flip transition causing it?

  2. Hey again.

I think this has been an issue before and was fixed at some point since I've made similar projects before (successfully), but now when I try to export a video that is meant to play in a seamless loop, I get this/these black frame(s) at the end. So when I try to play it in a loop, it doesn't play smoothly anymore because of this.

What I use in my project is an image that is set to 30s, it uses the temperature and glow effect in the middle. No black frames set at the beginning or end of the sequence. Everything looks normal in the preview.

  3. Hi.

I've also had problem with this part:

"And thirdly, I often see certain clips being lower than expected frame rate than other clips."

All my clips are 60 fps and I'm exporting the video as 60 fps. However, sometimes certain clips look like as if they're below 30fps, close 20 or so. Seems to mostly happening in complicated projects. To get around this, I usually need to export the Project in small sections, then combine them again in the editor.

We now know what causing the problem:

The original video you used in the problem was 59.94 fps rather then 60 fps. Although only a fraction different but VP have to insert a frame at some point and that's where the 'lag' happens. Because the output has more frames then the input.

To avoid the lag you have to make the export frame rate exactly same as the original video - 59.94. When you choosing file settings in the export dialog, you can click the Detect button (on the right side of the Preset drop-down list). It will show you suggested frame rate to avoid similar issues.

Oh nice, thanks! That makes sense now. I always thought that the capture device would actually capture 60 fps, but seems it doesn't. This fixed my issue. Thank you so much :).

  5. @c_major

Just PM'd you details how to download my Project files with some details of the issue I have.

Also, in the new version, when I add effects to my clips, isn't there a way to place the original clip in the fx editor so it's easier to edit the overlaying images etc like in the previous versions? Now when I edit a jpg for example, I can't easily align it with the original clip.

  6. Hi JaniN,

I've double checked just before reply to you. The problem did get fixed.

I exported 3 minutes of smooth scrolling text clip. Add it back to a new project and export to another 60fps clip (1080p). I couldn't see any lag.

If you confirmed that still happen, please try share the project and the media files (on DropBox, Google Drive etc.) to us so we can investigate.

Edit: It might because of the player. I've tested on one machine, playback in WMP was laggy but fine in VLC. On another machine both players are OK.

I'll do a record sample of this soon. I don't think it's because of PC/player, since the original clip playes just fine. When I just convert it through VideoPad the exported video has these lags every few (5-10) seconds. Also when I've uploaded it to YouTube the lags are still there at the exact same spots.

  7. This issue was left behind as we still working on it. The problem was caused by the constant frame rate option.

Ok, I hope you can get this fixed soonish :). Tried the new version and everything else seems to be working fine.

  8. Ok so I've tried clearing cache, no help.

Tried these two avi export options:

    MPEG4 (Native)

    Compression settings - default

    Sound: MP3 (Native), 44100 Hz, 320 kbs

    and

    H264 (Native), Full quality

    Sound: MP3 (Native), 44100 Hz, 128 kbs

also no help. Video always lags at the same spots, too.

  9. Hello, I have noticed that videopad records better when using .avi as the output format. Give that a try and let us know if the issues remain. This could be an issue related to the file format or the program's version you have there. You also may want to clear the unused cache on the program, to do that you may go to Options > Disk and click on the button to clear the cache.

I'll try that out and let you know what happens. In the mean time, here is a link to one of my videos (they all do that tho): https://www.youtube....?v=ZB17p8xfvRA. Put it to 720p or 1080p and you can see that about every 10 seconds it does that.. lagging. Especially noticable if there is fast movement in the video. Also, it's easier to notice when watching full screen.

Edit: Oh and I'm using the latest version of VideoPad, 4.22.

  10. Hi!

I've been using this program for a while and liking it a lot!

I'm doing game capture and editing it with VideoPad. I used to do 30fps and everything worked out quite well.

However, I've now switched to 60fps capture card and also exporting it to 1080p 60fps from VideoPad.

What I've noticed it that around every ten seconds the video looks like it's 30fps. This effect last for a couple of seconds each time. When I look at the original video, it's all smooth 6ofps all the time, so this must be happening during the export.

    My export settings are:

    Custom

    .mp4

    1920x1080 - YouTube 1080p

    60.00

    Constant frame rate is checked.

    Encoder options:

    H264

    10.0

    AAC

    320

What could be the cause of the lagging?
