  1. Input file is a 1:1 aspect ratio picture. (1190 x 1190)

    Crop Center 16:9

    Take Snapshot at HD 720p (1280 x 720)

    Output snapshot is 768 x 432. What?

I have tried all the other options and they all gave out the same exact dimensions in the output file.

I think I should just stay with version 7.03 of VideoPad forever. :/

I swear I've been using this software for the longest time since almost 4 years ago and ever since I downloaded the latest version being VideoPad 7.11, exporting videos has been a complete and utter frustration because of this unnecessary and buggy feature.

I'm making a video with a video & picture overlay and no matter what resolution & framerate combo, the video constantly zooms in with one of the text elements being expanded despite always staying cropped and adding black bars. I've tried Auto match content but fixes to 16:9, auto match content to a given resolution, 1920 x 1080, etc. with both letterbox and crop and zoom options chosen and every f**king time, it's the same result, either being that cropped mess I was talking about, or vertically cropped as if you were watching it on a phone. I just want to export videos the same way I used to: regular widescreen, 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames w/ no glitched zooms and black borders.

Honest question: was ANYONE asking for this feature? Because VP was perfectly fine for me minus the slow loads and outdated features until this annoying ass "necessity" was added. This just complicates exporting the video and because of it, I can't get this video to export normally like I always have no matter what options I choose. If there's an certain setup of resolution options or other options I'm missing, please enlighten tf out of me (I'm trying to put widescreen photos and pictures, 2 text elements cropped and scaled down, in the same widescreen format by 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps) because otherwise this feature shouldnt be there. I'm not the only one suffering from bug issues with this thing; there's a bug forum talking about this feature too. Why this feature was added is making me pull my hair out.

    AMEN!

SOMEBODY ELSE TRY IT......I'LL TRY WITH AN EVEN EARLIER VERSION THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE LETTERBOX OPTION *&^&%$***

I'm still using 7.03 until that option just goes away. Try that version and you'll thank me later. ^_^

    Hi

Borate is  correct.  If you are using clips with different resolutions,  Auto match Contents will show varying values.  e.g.a timeline with two different clips (1280 x720  + 1920 x 1080)   shows a resolution export setting (Auto Match Content) of 1600 x 900.

If you want to export at a specific resolution ..

    • Leave the Preset at Default although YouTube 720p should also work
    • Choose your File Format (e.g. .mp4 etc)
    • Choose Video Quality/Filesize
    • If the Resolution box does not show your required values click the down chevron button at the end of the box and choose 1280 x 720 720p  from the list of choices.   (I think this is where you may be  going wrong as if Auto Match was used previously then it becomes the default and as noted above values may not be what you want.)
    • Set required Frame rate

VP should export at the selected settings. Choosing any of the Preset options in the the lower group of choices will activate the Letterbox/Crop Zoom option which would otherwise remain greyed out.

That's what I'm doing though! The thing is that both resolutions you mentioned at the top, are in an aspect ratio of 16:9. In my case, I had that property vary between sources. (I say "had" because I already exported my project successfully in 7.03.)

Your project apparently has clips with various resolutions.  If auto-match doesn't show the desired resolution, set it manually.

You will likely see that the letterbox/crop choices are greyed out (disabled) and the result will be what you chose.

Exactly what I did. I selected the YouTube 720p preset, and the options were not greyed out.
    Am I missing something?

  6. The letterbox/crop and zoom feature is BS. It was never necessary on older versions of VideoPad. :/

I'm trying to export a video in 1280*720 just like it's shown in the preview, but the auto-detected resolution is 612*576, and I don't like either result from the letterbox or crop and zoom options. Going back to 7.03 for now.

transitions with a single clip...like  Fade complete 1/2 way through the transition.

This has actually been happening ever since I first started using VideoPad in 2014. I kept forgetting about reporting it.

Has this issue been resolved? When I speed up video clips to 500% speed, it just shortens the clip to 1/5 the length but with normal speed... very frustrating! (I have a paid version)

The issue is resolved as of version 7.03.

  9. By the way, I should also point out that the clip came out properly sped up in the exported file. Maybe it's because I singled it out from the whole project that I was working on when I found this bug, but I don't wanna risk exporting it all and then have to do it over again because the bug slipped by. :/

  10. Fatal flaw with VideoPad's version 7.01.

Let's say you have this clip with the In point at 10:00, and the Out point at 11:00.

Then you change the clip speed to 500%. The In point should now be at 2:00, and the Out point is now at 2:12.

And... that's all that happens. Changing the speed of the clip literally just shifts the In and Out points to another position inside of the same clip that's at 100% speed, but it doesn't actually CHANGE THE SPEED of the clip. On the preview, you will see a completely different part of the clip instead.

I open the Speed Change dialog again, and the speed appears to be 500%, but the duration appears to have been sped up to 500% again (as if the resulting twelve seconds was sped up 500% again, thus showing "2.400"). Yeah, I don't know what that's all about, but it's really weird.

I might have to go back to 7.00 until this gets fixed.

    Hi

    VP 6.30

    Agreed..It's a bug but it's not intermittent.....,

In the Text Editor, If Ctrl key has been pressed but then released (i.e. presumably now having no action) the Register Software window comes up when R is typed. After that it seems to come up each time R is pressed (r seems OK). If the window is then closed cursor is at start of text again.  The effect is removed if Ctrl is pressed again. The edit window obviously responds to the Ctrl key being pressed and released as the thumbnails are regenerated when it is pressed.

The Register software window is the bottom choice in the list under the green Menu key In my version of VP6.30

So until it's fixed don't press the Ctrl key when entering text. If you do then press it again.   It's easy to touch this key when you want Shift instead.....but doing it  again is the cure.;)

    Nat

    Oh.. now that explains everything.

    Thanks.
