  1. I created my documentary (about an hour long) in three sections. Now, how do I integrate the three sections into one movie? I have the information to "Marbelan", but I'm sure it is in much more detail than I need. Plus, she had sequences, and I cannot find how to make sequences on my VP 2.41.

    _____

Never mind. I just found "Import a Clip From Another Project" option on my VP.

  2. I got the hub because I can't wire up anything directly; I don't have enough USB ports. Maybe I should start over.

    My sound wasn't good.

So I got an external sound card that was supposed to make my voice sound better than the sound card that was built in that came with my computer.

I plugged it into a port on my 4-hub USB adapter. (This factoid shouldn't make any difference in the sound I get out of it.)

I went into Videopad to narrate. But I can't get the narration to go through the new external sound card.

  3. My movie was almost completed, when reviewers decided that the narration sounded "tinny" and not the high quality that we want in the product.

So I finally settled on: Logitech Headset Microphone with SB X-Fi Go! Pro sound card. These two should give me the quality we want. With the help of a new four-port hub, I finally have them cabled up the way I want. Only problem? No sound. Why do I get no sound out of my new setup?

How can I send you a screen shot of my narration window?

  4. I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct place to ask, but does anyone have any experience with downloading images from Google? I found a treasury of images in Google Images that I need to make my movie; however, when they are downloaded they don't keep the size they show online. Is there some simple thing I can do to keep them at the size they show on Google? They will show for instance 640 x 400 and when they come down into my photo editor they are 200 x 200.

  5. I thought I had left this question, but I have looked for it and can't find it, so maybe I didn't.

Your instructions were so clear and helpful regarding how to download and install VirtualDub smart-sharpen plugin. I have that completed now.

However, when I try to use the tool to make my pictures sharper, this plugin doesn't seem to work on .jpg files. The Smart-Sharpen dialogue box has numerous places on it where it is grayed out--in fact most places. I think there's only two that are black (Presets, View Original). I have been to the search engines and youtube to no avail.

Could you direct me to a place where they have a tutorial just for Smart-Sharpen? Or, alternatively, could you help me with this problem?

  6. I did what you suggested. I copied my movie to a place on my hard drive where it will be safe. Then I repaired the copy of the software. That did seem to be the problem, as it is now working as far as the music volume is concerned, and I presume the other is fixed as well. Thank you very much.

  7. My VP software has a glitch, according to my nephew, who knows more about VP than I do. He came over today and worked with it for awhile on my computer and concluded that it has to be repaired/replaced.

(The problems are twofold: 1) He can't get the music/effects volume to go up or down, at least not as much as they are supposed to. The change works well in the waveform window, but not on the audio tracks, and 2) the dialogue box for downloading from the waveform window that is supposed to give you three choices--beginning, end, sequence cursor--doesn't appear.)

We would like to know if my video is in any danger of being overwritten, if I download another copy of v. 2.41 or try to repair it. BTW, where can I get a copy of v. 2.41 for downloading?

  8. You instructions worked super. But my nephew tells me that .avi is for motion pictures, but as I understand it, VirtualDub will only work on .avi. My movie is made up of a lot of straight pictures on which I want to use the Ken Burns Effect of VP. Can I change my .jpg pictures into .avi? There is a lot of software making this alteration, so who is right? I'm confused.

  9. I can't turn the music down so as to allow the narration to be heard. I know how to use the fade out feature on my VP, but it wants to allow it to turn down s-l-o-w-l-y; this particular time in my movie, it must turn down rather abruptly. How do I do that? (This is at the beginning, where the "theme song" is turned down to allow the speaking to come through.)

Never mind! I just found it! (And it was so simple. Why . . .)

  10. I need a good voice changer to use with VideoPad. Voxal does not work well (or perhaps I just don't know how to make it work). Has anyone had experience with this? There doesn't seem to be anyone attending the Voxal forum. And I really need this information.

  11. I am so thrilled with Voxal Voice Changer! I haven't figured out how to use it yet, though. I want it to change my voice to narrate my documentary and I'm sure it will work. But it doesn't seem to yet. My question is: I have a lapel mic, set to use with Skype, and it works with the VideoPad software. I narrated my whole documentary with it, so I know it works. At present, I get the message "No Active Microphone." Do I need a desktop or headphones mic for Voxal? It doesn't seem to come in clearly, and there doesn't seem to be any connection between my Voxal and my VideoPad. Can someone help me.

I'm very excited to use the Voxal Voice Changer.

  12. I edited out of an old movie several (3) scenes that told a story different from the original. Now every time I open it up, the pieces (audio) are scattered within the movie. This does not pertain to the video; that's fine. It stays in place.

Is there any way I can SAVE those pieces so that the audio (spooky music, gun shot, sound effects, etc.) always goes with the video and does not change positions every time I open up the movie?

  13. I am learning the VideoPad Narration feature now, am still struggling but can make the voice feature post where it is supposed to be, but wonder where the Microphone is located. I get no sound at all from the "recording narration" dialogue. Please help.

    I use v. 2.41 and Windows XP.

When I go through the process of posting (nonworking) narrations on VideoPad, I then have to remove them. When I remove them I get a message that says, "If you remove [this narration], any video sequence, sound, or overlay clips associated with this file will be removed as well." Then, when I click on OK, it does NOT remove the video sequence. So what am I doing wrong?

    ___________

I finally found an audio wizard which can be accessed by: File>Audio Wizard. Through some experimentation I was able to find the combination that allowed me to begin narration. SUGGESTION: It would be helpful to have a tutorial to assist with this; what is now available is not really useful.

  14. I found that if I bring the slider to the edge of a clip and EXPAND the timeline, I can see where I have left pieces of images where they don't belong. And if I simply delete these extra pieces, the problem goes away.

  15. I am using v. 2.41.

I just went back and watched one of my sequences. It is not now flickering. Perhaps the software takes care of that problem. Thank you for responding to my question anyway. I'm sure I'll have plenty of other questions before this movie is completed. :)
