  1. WinFax Pro by Symantec appears to have an option called Call Discrimination ( accessed by going to Tools->Program Setup->Receive->Advanced->Call Discrimination->Direct All Data Calls to an Available Data Communications Program), however I have not gotten this to work yet. The IVM help file states that Windows does not support TAPI Fax Handoff yet, so I am wondering if (1) this is the problem and (2) if windows supports TAPI Fax Handoff yet. 2. Does anyone know if Windows supports the TAPI fax mode handoff yet? If so, which version? Thanks. A P Limbert CPA
  3. Is it true that the software I purchased (i.e. IVM) only comes with a temporary registration key (i.e. 28 days)? What happens if I need to reinstall my operating system and the 28 days pass (i.e. my current situation)? Worst yet, what happens if NCH ceases its business operations, merges out or gets acquired? Does this mean I can't use my software if I need to do another clean operating system reinstallation? I've had this done to me before by another Aussie software company, but this practice isn't normally practiced in my country (i.e. USA). That is, when you purchase software, you get a permanent registration key.
  4. Yes. I have a database of companies that I want to call. With two fields, telephone number and name, can I have IVM play a custom message unique to each company that I call? That is, can I make messages such as, "Hi ABC company, I am just calling to..." with ABC company being the variable. Thanks.
  5. Okay, I think I figured it out. It appears you have to enter a new and separarte OGM if you want to send the number variable to a log or an export file.
  6. Hi, Great Product! The only problem I am having is with [File->Out Going Message Properties->Advanced->Add Entry to Special Log -> Log Line Format]. I enter %number% in this text box because 'number' is what I have entered in the [File->Out Going Message Properties->Key Response->Variable Name] text box. However, my log file has ",," where the ",%number%," variable should be. That is, the variable is not flowing. I know that IVM is reading my sending telephone’s keypad because I can see the correct numbers being pressed in the main window. For example I see the following: 00:10:09 Caller pressed key [5] 00:10:10 Caller pressed key [1] 00:10:11 Caller pressed key [5] 00:10:11 Caller pressed key [0] However the variable data does not flow to the log file. I use a Zoom modem and I read at (http://www.nch.com.au/ivm/modems.html#AAA) that Zoom voice modems are not suitable for DTMF tone press detection because the main fault with Zoom modems is they have a long (2second+) delay to respond to DTMF tones. Now I don't really know what DTMF really means, but the menus appear to be working fine and I can see the numbers appear (as described above) almost immediately after keying them on my phone keypad, so I am not quite sure if this is the problem. If anyone knows anything about this, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
