  1. Right-click the Windows speaker icon (in the tray at the bottom-right of the screen). Open the Volume Mixer and confirm that the Videopad slider is at 100%. If necessary, increasing the gain in VP should not degrade the file as long as it's not overdriven. Share the Audacity file and we'll analyze it... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  2. Hope it sitcks! Now get some rest.😃
  3. Checked three recordings in VP 11.71 here and all were normal. Next thing to try... Close VP. Then use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to delete all files in these folders. When done, install this VP version. "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" (or they may be in the Program Files path (no x86). "C:\Users\<PC user name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" If another PC is available, try it there.
  4. Indeed odd. It's not the mics. You are plugged into the PC and recording via the Windows mixer? Record a file without using Videopad - perhaps via the Voice Recorder or other audio utility on the laptop. Does it happen there?
  5. Please explain exactly how the audio is being recorded. Then let's see one of the recordings that is missing audio on playback. Someone will check it out.
  6. Double-click the audio track. The clip waveform appears. If the clip has been split, inactive areas will be shaded. Drag the blue line that's in the active area. Each time that's done a keyframe will be created. In this example the volume is raised at keyframe 1 and lowered at keyframe 2. Or instead right-click on the audio track, click EFFECTS and apply Amplify. Move the cursor and click the small green + to create the first keyframe.. Drag the cursor to the next point. Then move the Gain slider, which will create the next keyframe...and so on. Note the PRESETS as well.
  7. Make NCH an offer that they can't refuse. This is a peer support forum - primarily users just like yourself helping other users. The Close Gap feature is available in both Storyboard and Timeline modes, but if there's only a single track then SB mode is a good choice. In timeline mode, expand the display with the slider at the bottom-right, to more easily spot gaps. .
  8. Record_2022_07_02_16_31_21_361.mp4 There's no Close Gap ICON. When a blank space is right-clicked that choice will appear on the drop-down menu...
  9. Odd indeed... Don't have a Mac to test here. See if installing the latest 11.71 iOS release solves the problem.
  10. There are numerous ways to place video on the timeline sequence. One is to select the clip in the bin (top-left), then move the red cursor in the preview window to the start point. Click the Set Srart button. Move to the end. Click the Set End button. Then click the ADD button and the clip will be dropped to the timeline. Right-click on the chevron to the right of the ADD button for various positioning choices. In this way various sections of the master clip can be chosen and dropped, individually, on the timeline. To eliminate gaps between clips, right-click in the gap and CLOSE GAP. Storyboard mode easily spots gaps, as long as the sequence is a single track.
  11. This may be resolved when the VP YouTube quota is increased. In the interim, if it balks, use the YT uploader.
  12. Click the 3-lined Menu at the top-right of the VP window. Click VIEW and Show Dual Previews. Add the full-screen image to track 1. Add the video to be zoomed on track 2. Add the ZOOM effect and adjust it. If necessary, set the aspect ratio preset. Here it's a 4x3 video... Click this image to enlarge it. Next add the SCALE (Picture-In-Picture) effect and position the Base X and Y coordinates for a bottom-right window display. P-in-P.mp4
  13. Install the 'free' version. That may solve the issue. If mp4 export balks, try AVI. Better still, license the program.
  14. That's something not reported or seen to date. Please list your PC's specs: GPU/CPU/RAM. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Under the OPTIONS | EDITING window, make this choice... If the issue persists please install this release. Let us know what succeeds. You can link to a screen shot. Just upload it to a free server, get a shared (public) link and post that link here. If using Google Drive, make the link "anyone can view" - not "restricted."
  15. It certainly should be there. Be sure that the CLIP PREVIEW tab is active in the PV window. Or enable Show Dual Previews under FILE | VIEW menu. If no joy, try reinstalling Videopad.
  16. Worked well here. This should have little to do with a browser. Be sure to allow Videopad to link to Drive or YT; if it hasn't been linked there will be a button to click. Install the latest VP release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Does that work? If not, export a video file, sign in to your Google or YT account and upload from there.
  17. Ignore the 2nd sequence; it's created just in case there's no Sequences tab. Right-click the 1st sequence, then click on EFFECTS and program the transparency.
  18. Two things to try... 1. Add the fade to the slowed clip after applying the speed change. 2. Don't program individual track fades. Instead, click the SEQUENCES tab at the top-left of the bin. Right-click on Sequence 1 and click on EFFECTS. If you don't see a sequence tab, click the + sign on the Sequence tab that just above the timeline, to add a new blank sequence. Choose the Transparency effect and plot a fade. Set the Opacity slider to 100%, then drag the red cursor to the right until it's near the end. Click the small green + sign to set a keyframe. Then drag the cursor to the very end and set Opacity to zero. That will automatically create a second keyframe. The horizontal distance between the keyframes determines the speed of the fade. Keyframe dots can be dragged. When done, the graph should look like this... . All tracks will fade at once.
  19. 1. From the Videopad toolbar, ADD FILES to the media bin 2. Drag those clips to the timeline in the desired order or right-click on each and Place it 3. When the timeline sequence is as you want it, click EXPORT | VIDEO FILE. The default setting will save to the PC's VIDEOS folder. But you can change it. Click the 'pencil' You can even choose a folder on the USB 4. If necessary copy the exported file from the PC to the USB
  20. If the audio is the same on both sources, stack the tracks one atop the other. Right-click on an audio track and SYNC AUDIO. Videopad will match them up. If there's a single audio source, but video on the same clip needs to be dealt with independently, right-click on either track and UNlink audio and video. Then the audio track can be locked so editing on other tracks doesn't affect it. Right-click to the left of the audio track and Lock Track. There's a feature that enables easy switching between video tracks: Multicam Mode. Access it via a right-click in the preview window, then click Preview Mode.
  21. Humm. Try this... Open Windows Control Panel and click on SOUND. Click the Recording tab and double-click on the input device - perhaps LINE IN. (or MICROPHONE) Click the Listen tab. Check the Listen to This Device box. You then should be able to hear audio as it's being recorded. Any better?
  22. What kind of camera...and please describe the hook up between camera and Videopad. Here's the latest 64-bit version. Try it.
  23. Don't quote me the 'auto' option applying peak normalization, but it's a reasonable assumption. From the VP FAQ... Normalize To 'normalize' is to adjust the volume so that the loudest peak is equal to (or a percentage of) the maximum signal that can be used in digital audio. Usually you normalize files to 100% as the last stage in production to make it the loudest possible without distortion. Another reason to normalize is to have multiple tracks sound equally loud, or to have equal average loudness. The 'Peak' normalization method finds the sample of the greatest magnitude within the file. Normalization is then done with this value as the peak. With the Normalize Peak Level set to 100% (0dB), the whole file will be amplified so that the peak reaches 0dB. -0-0- For more insight query the company... https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw Here's a related read... https://emastered.com/blog/lufs-vs-db
  24. Can't replicate that issue here, but if you share a project that has the Burns pause on export someone will check it out. Use the latest Windows version if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Sharing is not difficult and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. Below, the Burns effect applied to the 2nd clip. No delay in movement. Export was at 1080 with default settings. Burns_test.mp4
