  1. Ours is not to reason why.🙂 Glad it worked out. When Videopad works well for you there's no mandate to upgrade. A purchased version doesn't expire. Newer releases can always be test driven, even if unlicensed. Just retain your old installer.
  2. Your Torries source file was apparently recorded with H265... Compare the specs with the Huawei P30 Pro file.
  3. The 4K, 3:18 HEVC file took about 40 minutes to fully cache - for smoothest preview. But that wasn't necessary prior to export. Using a 64-bit VP version, the H264, 4K, 60fps export at default settings completed in 43 minutes. Average CPU was 20%, GPU 10%. File size: 3.81 GB. Lowering the quality setting and frame rate might have produced satisfactory results with a quicker export and smaller file size. Lowering res is another approach. This content doesn't appear to demand 4K. For lengthy, HD projects it's sometimes helpful to break them up into manageable segments, export each, then assemble the exports for the final export.
  4. Check out the suggestions in this recent thread... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/39604-crop-of-169-video-to-aspect-ratio-916-leads-to-blurring/#comment-106671 If this doesn't clear things up, come back here for more tips.
  5. Not surprised, it's happening here as well. Submit the report. Being worked on. Use 11.80 for now.

    Cover of video

It's not clear what you mean by "cover." Please explain more fully or upload a screenshot to a free server, get a public (shared) link and post it here.
  7. What's the version #? Look at the bottom-left of the screen. Install this Windows release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the problem persists, please share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  8. https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadsetup64.exe That export resolution isn't supported. Maximum width is 4096.
  9. Upload that file. 11.81 isn't a release seen here or in the VP archives; must be Steam specific. Not familiar with their restrictions here. Normally, for licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.
  10. Send in a bug report or suggestion and reference this thread. Ignore v11.85; it reportedly was a faulty build. As of this moment v11.86 is up. Stick with what works best for you.😉
  11. What's the version #? Look at the bottom-left of the screen. Please upload and share an 'audioless' file for testing, per the above instructions.
  12. You can always post to the forum, where more 'eyes' can result in better suggestions. Do post a new topic for each issue. Most users who chime in here are not NCH employees. But some do communicate with the developers.
  13. Did you test the version linked above? Share a file that has no sound when imported to Videopad. Someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  14. What version of Videopad is being used? Try this one... For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Right-click the speaker icon at the bottom-right of the Windows screen and open the volume mixer. With Videopad running, confirm that the VP slider is up, and not muted. This will display differently on Windows 8/10, but the idea is the same. Also be sure that the volume slider to the left of the VP audio track isn't turned down, or the track muted.
  15. If you have the time and server space, please upload the shortest project that demonstrates the issue - for analysis and speed comparison. Thanks. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. -0-0- Tested again, with v11.88 (beta). Source: nine identical MKV 30fps 1.5 GB files (13.5 total). Export: no effects, no transitions. 4k, 30fps, default quality, H264. Resulting file size: 4.77 GB. CPU activity was minimal, GPU was very high. LOSSLESS export completed in 5:11. Forced re-encoded export, surprisingly, took 5:06. A lower quality export likely would have been satisfactory. And no doubt it would have taken longer had there been transitions or effects.
  16. No, the processor is fine. Some video adapters don't play nicely with VP, and the developers are always interested in scoping out which ones. Does your system have a separate graphics card? If not, what GPU is being used?
  17. Odd. No sign of that here. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU? Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab, in the Advanced area at the bottom, choose None (CPU only) and see if that remedies the issue.
  18. Apparently you are attempting to use LOSSLESS export. Instead, use these settings. Click the blue Default Quality/Filesize link to see the drop-down box.
  19. Perfectly clean here, in both preview and export. Install this version and see if the problem clears up.
  20. There may be a prompt, but there's never a mandate to update. New unlicensed versions can be test driven at any time. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. If you didn't retain your purchased installer, releases that fall within your six-month period can be downloaded from here. Any of them should accept your code.
  21. 64-bit 11.86. Strung together six 1.5G 4K files (two-minutes each) that were created using H264@30fps in Matroska format. Added another 1.5 file as an overlay for good measure. Loading the files was relatively quick. Twelve minutes, roughly 10 GB of content. Using a PC slightly less beefy than yours... H265 4K export @45fps took 68.5 minutes, with average 10% GPU and up to 100% CPU. Exported file size: 153 MB. H264 export completed in 3:27 with an average 95% GPU and 5% CPU. Exported file size: 2.88 GB. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab, at the bottom, DEFAULT was listed. You might try the other two choices. The sluggishness doesn't appear to be with Videopad. Each install has a clean cache. The releases offered on the NCH site vary - sometimes they're 32, at others 64. The link above should fetch the latest 64-bit flavor.
  22. As the clips had already been processed, running them through NR again, which it appears you have done, likely won't help much. The issue has been passed on, to verify whether NR is working as intended. VP isn't designed for extensive audio tweaking. Wavepad is.
  23. If you updated to a more recent version, perhaps a little bug crept in. It's was reported. And it is fixed in the current version.
  24. Confirmed, with the suggested frame rate. Change it to 29.97 and it works fine. Please leave your link up for a few days so others can check it out. Cube_spin.mp4
  25. What version of Videopad is being used? First, try changing the export frame rate from the suggestion setting. Try 29.97 NTSC. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then you're protected. Restart the program and prior to loading anything go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Restart again and then load the project. Any better? If not, share he project for analysis.
