  1. Have to updated to the latest version? What are your export settings? If no difference... Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. If no difference, please share the project for analysis.
  2. Good enough. Try the latest version to see if the issue persists. File size/resolution should not result in a split-screen image. If possible, upload a project that does this - prior to any workarounds. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 3. Save As just writes the VPJ instruction file that tells the project what to do. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Export, on the other hand, creates a playable video file, such as mp4, avi, mov. The issue you mention may have been fixed. Install the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Report back if you see the split-screen again.
  4. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then you're protected. Click the VPJ and the project will load in ANY VP version. The exception is that projects saved in a very recent version may not load in an older release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. There's no need to redo the project, provided it was saved as above.
  5. This is fixed in beta (test) version 12.05. https://www.nchsoftware.com/beta/vpsetup.exe For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  6. Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If that doesn't solve the issue, please list your PC's specs: GPU/CPU/RAM. And try this... Under OPTIONS | EDITING, in the Advanced | Video Processor section at the bottom, click on Default and choose None (CPU only). Please report what worked.
  7. Good to know. But which suggestion did the job - the newer version, or switching to None (CPU only)? What are your PC's specs: GPU/CPU/RAM? Thanks.
  8. You didn't provide a project (VPJ file) but version 12.03, had no problem loading the files. OPTIONS | EDITING | Advanced | Video Processor set to Default. Mp4 on track 1, MKV on track 2, two image files randomly placed as overlays on track 3. 6:47 excerpt. Owing to the length and size of the files, it can take minutes of caching time (green line above the thumbnails) to complete, and audio to process. Use the 64-bit VP version.
  9. Menu (top-left with three lines), FILE | ADD IMAGES AS VIDEO creates an .isq file that may be just slightly longer than the original video. It can be added to the sequence, edited and exported. Here is an example of an animation rebuilt from the image files... Untitled.mp4
  10. To break down a video into images: FILE | EXPORT | IMAGE SEQUENCE (to a folder of your choice, where individual frames can be accessed, deleted, moved, etc.) To reassemble: FILE | ADD IMAGES AS VIDEO. That may be about the best you can do.
  11. Let us know how it went. And Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  12. There's something about that master file. After re-encoding, there is no resolution change, jumping or freezing on the export of Sequence 1. There are no fonts in that sequence. Normally, when individual sequences are built, as yours were with fonts, those sequences are then assembled (embedded) into a new sequence and that is the sequence used for the final export. This doesn't seem to be the case with this project, and the sequences themselves also appear to have problems.
  13. If a direct upload immediately responds "failed" then it has. But if the process fails at what would be the ending stage, it may have succeeded. Be sure to file a suggestion/bug report.
  14. Though it's reportedly recently been increased, there's a quota of VP direct uploads to YouTube. When it's exceeded, various error messages appear. If the upload seems to have progressed normally but fails at the end, check your YT account. it may have actually succeeded. Also try direct uploads at off-hours. There's no log or status page for failed updates, and direct YT upload failures are not stored on the hard drive AFAIK. If it fails, export the project as Video, which will be stored on the PC, and then use YouTube's uploader. Choose a default export folder under OPTIONS | EXPORT tab. File suggestions here.
  15. What are the export settings? To let folks here see what you see, and solve the problem, please share the project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. 16. Place the cursor at the leading edge of the narration. Use <ctrl-alt-right> or <ctrl-alt-left> for accuracy, or use the buttons under the preview window timeline. Split the music track. Do the same at the trailing edge of narration. Now when the audio track is clicked in the newly split clip, the section that you want to adjust will be highlighted. If you want to expand that area, click the small icon at the far right that has red and blue brackets. Drag the blue line to the desired levels. The expanded waveform, with level dips programmed, will look similar to this... Or use the ducker feature to do this automatically. The adjustments can be found under OPTIONS | AUDIO tab. Right-click on the music track and click BACKGROUND SOUND to enable the feature. Takes some practice, but works very well.
  17. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Let's take a look at your project. 18. What version did you update to? Here's the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? What are the export settings? Try this. Open OPTIONS | EDITING tab and in the Advanced section at the bottom click on Default. Choose instead None (CPU) only. Now go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Restart Videopad and before loading anything again clear the cache. Restart once more. If none of this helps please share your project. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. Alf, here, has been cropped on three sides - eliminating the lettering beneath him. That will leave black borders. Now, the SCALE effect has been added, to increase image size to fill the frame.
  20. Try using the ZOOM effect instead of CROP. Then chose the desired aspect ratio from the drop-down box.
  21. Speech-to-text is not a useful feature, though it works as well here in version 12.x as it always did and doesn't hang, as you describe. The result is a single, long line of text, not broken up into typical subtitle pieces. And the Microsoft recognition engine used does a poor job. Suggest instead trying this utility (or similar) which has a number of output options that work well with Videopad. File a bug report here. Try the latest VP release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  22. If you're not already doing this... To get the best color match, open the green screen effect, then click the mouse pointer (which becomes an eyedropper) in the area of the preview window that contains the to-be-keyed-out color. Then try the different keying options, and tweak the sliders to refine the cutout.
