  1. Here's a convoluted method to test... Right-click the audio track and Save Audio Clip As New File. It should land in the PC's MUSIC folder. Open that file in Wavepad. Play the file and press the B key for each mark, which will add squares to the timeline. Open a video capture program, like Debut, and capture the screen playback of the Wavepad project, saving it as an mp4. In Videpad, import the captured mp4 and place it (overlay) on the next highest track. Use the POSITION effect to move it to a convenient screen location. Right-click the audio track and SYNC AUDIO. Mute the overlay audio track. The waveform image will precisely track playback, with the squares marking potential edit points. When done, hide or delete the overlay track.
  2. Unusual. What are the export settings? What version of Videopad is being used? How are you programming the slo-mo? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If no joy, place the clip on the sequence and apply the effects. Then do the following to share it for analysis. Someone will check it out... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  3. Experiment with this approach... Add a blank file, drop it onto the next higher track (overlay) and drag its right handle to the length of the sequence. Right-click the blank clip's track, click the fx icon and add a zero opacity TRANSPARENCY effect. Drag the cursor to where you want the first mark, right-click the blank track and SPLIT SELECTED CLIP. Repeat as needed. Each split represents where you want your effect to be placed. When done, the blank track can be deleted. Record_2022_11_05_08_58_13_586.mp4
  4. Here's info that should give you ideas. But mediajf's suggestion may prove a better route. An ISO file will open as a separate drive in Windows. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/finalise_dvdchapters.html The VOB iso file can then be launched In a capable player and chapters chosen. Here's an example via the right-click menu in the free MPC-BE. If MPC-BE doesn't open automatically, listing the above options, launch it manually. Click FILE|OPEN DVD and select the drive that contains the ISO. Click SELECT FOLDER.
  5. Good hearing that it worked out, but there's no obvious reason why 720 should not succeed. What version of Videopad is being used? Install the current version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  6. VP does support VTT format. Just tested in the current release and confirmed. As for YT... You can either create an SRT file (or, possibly, other formats) which you upload along with your video to YouTube or you burn in the subtitles to your video. If you create the file your viewers can actively decide if they want to toggle the subtitles on or off. In fact these subtitles are called closed captions (CC) because they are not fixed attached to the video and you give the options to toggle them on/off. https://www.typestudio.co/blog/how-to-upload-srt-files-to-youtube There are also utilities on-line that can convert between types.
  7. Can't speak for YT. But a test of a project saved with subs at 7 and uploaded directly from Videopad succeeded with always displayed open captions. There's also this route, among others that a Net search for "add subtitles to YouTube" will reveal.
  8. While new subs do default to 14, if the project is saved (with 7, for example), it will open with the same subs size the next time. Menu (top-left) | FILE | SAVE PROJECT FILE AS. Then upload that project to YT or the like.
  9. Please check for a Personal Message that explains this issue in more detail.
  10. Easily done. Click the 3-lined Menu (top-left), then FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. All source files, + the VPJ control file that tells the program what to do with them will be backed up into a numbered folder that can be renamed. That folder can be used to run the project on any PC that has VP installed; just double-click the VPJ file.
  11. Free versions don't expire, but they are limited in features. The unlicensed normal version will also scale back after a time. Consider a License, and all should be well. Then, if it does the job for you, there's no need to update. New versions can always be test driven, to see what's new. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  12. That is odd. Try a right-click on the program's executable and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. Perhaps your current project uses files or effects that make it ineligible for Lossless exporting. Lossless export provides the highest quality video. It does this by re-encoding your video file only when required. Some editing functions require your video to be re-encoded on export. These include adding transitions, adding effects or exporting to a different file type than the original file. You can use this feature from File->Export Lossless Video. Check Lossless Export Settings for more information.
  13. One would think so, but don't quote me. A test of the Windows WMV wildlife :30 video exported to WMV at its 6183kbps original bitrate took the filesize from about 25MB down to 15MB on the first pass. Same file, same format, same frame and bitrate. But obviously, some processing was applied on this pass, which reduced its size. But that file size remained unchanged in subsequent exports where the most recent export was repeatedly exported again at the same settings. Sharing can be private, via a personal message. No one else will see the file. Click the envelope at the top-right of this forum.
  14. Tested two mp4 to WMV exports. When the WMV bitrate was left at the 8192 default (considerably higher than the mp4s), file sizes increased, as expected. If the bitrate was set to the same value as the original, then they decreased - as in your test. However, the WMV-to_WMV second export did not change significantly... For example, on a 2:20 file the original's bitrate of 33.65 was reduced to 24.78. The WMV-to-WMV pass was 21.14. Don't know why, but if more info surfaces it will be added here. Upload a file that has the behavior you described and someone will check it out. Use a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  15. Apparently you haven't licensed the software, which enables all features. If the free version has shut down mp4 export, try AVI instead. That often works. Or reinstall the latest free release. That may restore some features for a time. You might also try installing the latest pro version, which will be a trial if unlicensed.
  16. Wait for caching to finish. The message will vanish and preview will be smooth. How long that takes varies with the the project. It's not new. Video clips are fully cached when the green line above their thumbnails is complete. Stills aren't cached. The entire Sequence is fully cached when the ribbon under the preview window has changed color... Use this release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  17. First thing, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. To remove unused clips... Select all clips under the desired tab in the bin, using <ctrl-A>. (Not just the ones that are to be deleted.) Right-click on one of the selected clips. Check the "Do the same for all items" box. Press the CANCEL button. (NOT the Delete button.)
  18. Just to clarify... Sequences are shown under the Sequences tab in the bin (upper-left). Tracks are shown under the timeline. When a sequence is exported it saves all tracks that are currently active. If sequence 1, for example, is embedded into sequence 2, sequence 1 will be a single composite containing all its tracks. We need to see the project to fully understand what you see there. Save and share it, as above, if possible. Also helpful: detail the precise steps being used to insert the audio track.
  19. Difficult to analyze without seeing the project. Share it if possible.. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps...
  20. Use the ROTATION effect, with keyframes, as shown above. Double-click the video to may it bigger. Starting keyframe is zero. Second frame is 180. Third is 360. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win64bitpaid/effects_animating.html
  21. An export always reflects what is on the sequence. Perhaps there was extraneous content at the head that was overlooked before exporting?? It appears that audio and video for the clip are not linked, and that this was simply an audio track intended to match up to existing video. After importing the audio, split off and delete the silence at the beginning if necessary. Then drag the audio track to where it should be. To drag ALL clips simultaneously click the first clip, hold down <shift> and click the last, to select them all. Then drag. Or select all clips that are to be moved, right-click on one of them and GROUP CLIPS. Drag.
  22. Using the current release, the issue couldn't be duplicated here - if this is what you have in mind... Record_2022_10_27_18_33_47_599.mp4
  23. A sequence that has been exported should import with no sync changes. Are you saying that this isn't the case? You can import those single clips in order, or place them anywhere on the timeline. Take a minute to share an exported file that does not import in sync and someone will check it out. Upload the exported file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Also update to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  24. If the clip is on the timeline, dragging either A or V affects both. File a suggestion... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad In recent VP versions, audio tracks can be greatly expanded for some projects. Click the arrow, so it points downward, then drag the dots, if available. Record_2022_10_27_08_23_59_82.mp4 In some installations, there instead may be a + icon at the left. Click it for a slider that vertically expands the track.. . The sequence timeline can be expanded horizontally via the slider at the bottom-right of the window... Alf is ageless.😀
  25. There's no audio tracking on the timeline when viewing the sequence - by clicking the Sequences tab in the bin, then selecting the sequence to view. But if the audio track is double-clicked, then the waveform appears in the PV window, and dragging the cursor there will track in the timeline. Accomplish the same by having clips that are on the track. Video and audio will track - like this... Record_2022_10_26_11_07_03_642.mp4
