  1. It seems like the last suggestion will do the job...at the expense of some content. Use ZOOM and POSITION effects to get the desired result, as with the "6" above. You can also try the CROP TO ASPECT RATIO choice, and choose 9:16... Or test the CROP & ZOOM choice from the export screen... Experimentation should get you what you want.
  2. And, to select a range of clips, left-click the first, hold down <shift> and left-click the last. One a number of clips are grouped via that right-click choice, movement or deletion of one will do the same to all. For your protection... Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  3. Prior to placing the overlay on the timeline, if the bin clip is right-clicked it should present Change Clip Aspect Ratio choices in the drop-down menus. Stretch is there, but also check out Blur Padding. The amount of blurriness is adjustable via this effect...
  4. Your best bet, at the cost of slight stretching, may be to apply the STRETCH TO ASPECT RATIO effect to the overlay. Also experiment with the SCALE effect. Untitled.mp4
  5. Seeing aliasing but no black lines in the image that you linked above. Draw an arrow, pointing to those lines, and resubmit. Did you test this on the latest VP version?
  6. Glad it worked out. If effects or changes are made to a bin clip original after it has been dropped into the sequence, the sequence clip won't reflect them. And changes made to a clip on the sequence don't affect the original in the bin. Most often, effects and other changes are applied to timeline sequence clips, leaving the original bin clip 'clean.'
  7. Following the instructions above (without adjusting text width), this export results in this format profile for the 9:16 mp4... This assumes that you want the result to be vertical. If not, export at 1920x1080p instead and don't change the text formatting. The result is still "4" here. Yes, resolution does appear to affect the format profile # but am not an expert on that. You might test lower resolutions and frame rates.
  8. Updated info... The file is a MOV. If when the project is loaded the file appears on the sequence timeline, remove it. In the bin (top-left), right-click it, choose VIDEO EFFECTS and remove the rotation. Right-click and CHANGE ASPECT RATIO to Letterbox/9:16. It then should display vertically and can be dropped onto the timelime, where it should also display vertically. Export at Letterbox/9:16. Or choose the YouTube custom 9:16 profile... Mediainfo lists the export as format profile 4. (Same as original.) It fills the vertical frame, but is compressed horizontally owing to the original aspect ratio. If you want it to be horizontal, apply ROTATION. But that won't fill the frame. ZOOM can, but content is lost.
  9. Unless the image is zoomed (some of it will be lost), it won't fill the space. An example of a ZOOM to the '6', then export at the YouTube 1:2 preset. It's still unclear exactly how you want the 9:16 to display. Share the original, and an example (perhaps another image) of what the result should be. Here's how... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  10. Try the AVI format - H264 If no joy, please share the project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. Your VP version is dated. Install the latest if possible. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  11. Perhaps the undimmed track was unintentionally soloed? Toggle that icon.
  12. A chromakey (color key) simply removes a solid color (usually green) from an image, to be replaced by a background image that's on a lower track. If the image has color that's near to or the same as the key color, it will be keyed out. If the girl here wore green gloves, they too would be keyed. Shot in front of a green screen, and placed on track 2... The Chromakey effect is applied, so the background image, on track 1, replaces the green... Removing complex elements from a concert still shot may require masking. Or perhaps sophisticated graphics software. For work with still images check out Photopad. For a more extensive explanation, look here.
  13. If the original is 16:9... And export is set for an A/R of 9:16, this will be the result... Specify exactly what you expect to see, and upload an original file so others can experiment.
  14. Should have mentioned this initially, as it's likely what you want - more than simple rotation... Right-click on the file in the bin and then on Change Clip Aspect Ratio. Expand the choices, for many options... For more help, share a sample file. If it's small enough it can be attached here or in a personal message. Otherwise, the server route is best.
  15. That is an annoyance. Right-click the audio track and if it's an audio/video clip there may be an EDIT WITH WAVEPAD option. In Wavepad the EQ changes can be made while playing in real time. Once satisfied, close WP with the X at the top-right and SAVE. The track will drop back into Videopad. Unlink and delete or cut the old audio and position the newly EQ'd clip in its place. Before making major changes, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. File a suggestion... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad Of course, Wavepad can also be used ala carte. Then the ressult would be imported to Videopad. EQ.mp4
  16. Don't think so, but don't know for certain. Ask here... https://www.nch.com.au/software/buyfaqcontact.html
  17. Your project can be shared ONLY with me, via the Personal Messenger envelope link at the top-right of this forum. Please upload it. And do install the version linked above. PV and export flow should be identical, but for resolution changes that can be specified on export. The 'Auto Match' suggestion isn't always optimal. Try to match the resolution of the bulk of the source files. Lower resolutions will deliver a faster export.
  18. Despite having the most recent Windows version, install this one. To analyze the issue we need to see it. Please upload the project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix.
  19. Upload a sample horizontal file and someone will take a look... Use a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." In the bin (top-left), right-click the clip and choose Or use the ROTATION effect from the effects list.
  20. Right-click at the left of a track... An individual clip cannot be locked, but it can be placed on a separate track, which can then be locked so it won't be affected when working on other tracks.
  21. Only the end fade is lost after a move of an isolated clip here. My guess is that's because that fade is actually a transition to black - broken when the clip is moved. Record_2022_11_14_15_40_55_939.mp4 The end fade is retained if its trans abuts another clip and both are selected prior to moving. That's just the way it works.
  22. Text composition options include outline, shadow and others... A TRANSPARENCY effect can be utilized. File suggestions... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad
  23. Have you checked out this NCH product? The result can be imported to VP via the ADD OBJECTS menu. And two simple examples created solely in Videopad. animate.mp4
  24. File size will be affected by several factors. Here's an important one... Click the blue Default Quality/Filesize link and try different quality settings... Your 1080 test export here produced a 2GB file. To see whether you have 64-bit VP, look at the splash screen at start up or click the Menu (top-left) HELP | ABOUT. If it doesn't list "64-bit" it's not.
  25. Mp4 export at 1080 resolution with frame rate set to Smart Max completed in a little more than 33 minutes. CPU averaged 32%; GPU 55%-60%. A lower resolution seems suitable ... and would be quicker. While the nearly four-hour project took about 70 minutes to fully cache - for seamless preview play - it could be exported during the load. That's where Proxy editing may come in handy. Takes set-up time, but can speed up response during editing - especially on complex UHD projects. Lengthy projects can sometimes benefit from being broken into short exported segments. Those exports can be assembled for the final export. Planning is key: the best approach depends upon the nature of the job. Be sure to use the 64-bit version.
