  1. The info came from the company. Nothing further on how/why this occurs for apparently only you two. Cannot recall it having been reported here.
  2. Query the company. https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw
  3. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer Take a look. Is VP running? If not launched, it isn't here.
  4. Have received confirmation that if VP is not run for a period of time (unknown), that it may auto-start. Intended behavior. Have never witnessed that here, likely because it's manually launched so frequently, and this thread appears to be the first to mention the behavior. Your complaint has been forwarded to management. Add your feedback here.
  5. Sequences tab. Right click the sequence thumbnail and Save Sequence Audio as New File... It should land in your MUSIC folder as a WAV file, which you can then convert to mp3 with any number of utilities. Try Wavepad.
  6. Split the clip. Then apply CENSOR to only the desired areas. Untitled.mp4
  7. You have unearthed a bug, which has been reported and should be fixed shortly. You can report it as well... https://tinyurl.com/2jy2s72b In the interim, install this release and see if that solves the issue. Ignore any virus warnings. There's never a mandate to update; purchased versions do not expire. But newer releases can always be test driven - licensed or not. Retain your paid installer and registration info.
  8. Probably not a bug, but cache corruption, which happens rarely. It's good practice to clear the cache prior to beginning a new project. Don't clear it if simply reloading the last project worked on or the cache will have to be rebuilt. Clear Unused Cache Files can be used at anytime during editing. Save time by not loading files that won't be used in the project. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. The latest 64-bit version, recommended for lengthy, UHD and complex projects, is linked above. The home download page is here.
  9. Normally, a project has but a single sequence, as shown by the tab above the timeline and under the Sequences tab in the bin (top-left). Sequences can be embedded in other sequences, as noted above, where they become just another track. Often, a sequence has many tracks. Higher tracks take precedence over lower, so text clips, on a higher track, will be displayed over content on lower tracks. And text clips, just like any other, can be moved by dragging. A track can be locked (so it isn't affected by work on other tracks) by right-clicking at the left of the track and making that choice.
  10. When you "removed temporary files" did you go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files? Then close/reopen and repeat before loading anything. What VP release is being used? Try the latest and report back. Share the VOB for inspection. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  11. No grief. Can't comment on NCH official support, but this forum may be just as, or more, effective in many cases. Many eyes - including programmers. Bugs and observations are passed along to developers. That's about as high as it gets.😉 Out of curiosity, does the Canon Vixia offer other formats, frame rates, or file-splitting methods? They might be worthy of experimentation.
  12. There's a YouTube quota on direct VP uploads, though it reportedly has recently been increased. Try the upload in the middle of the night.🙂 Occasionally, when no error messages appear but the final upload phase hangs, the transfer has actually succeeded. Check your YT account. But Ketil has the answer: export as an mp4 (or other YT compatible format) and use their uploader. It's just about as quick.
  13. Need more info. What version is being used? Look at the bottom-left of the window. Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If that doesn't fix things, please share your project here or via a private message. It's easy, takes only minutes. Just follow these steps closely... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  14. Not quite sure of your procedure. Please explain step-by=step. Here, a project was opened and two text clips were overlaid at different clip boundaries. Then, a new sequence 2 was created. From the Sequences tab above the bin, sequence 1 was dropped into sequence 2. Sequence 2 is now a composite of sequence 1 - no splits between clips. The text overlay isn't displayed on the overlay track. Nor can it be moved. But everything is there and text remains in precisely the same position as it was when composed in sequence 1. A text overlay is tied to its sequence
  15. You should have that option on a MAC, though it may be in a different place. To attach a link to a image file upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Your 'test.mp4' file has arrived, with some pixelation. But that appears to be the Videopad exported file. What's needed is the project - exactly what you see on the timeline prior to export. Please upload the project folder as described earlier. Don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone can view" in Google Drive.
  16. While NCH doesn't pay our bills, moderators here do work with the developers. MTS issues have come up occasionally. Rest assured that yours is already being mulled by those 'higher life forms.' Still, the more voices the better. Contact NCH tech support.
  17. No, Save Project File AS pertains to this... Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That's your protection. What's needed here is the folder created when Back Up Project Files to a Folder OR Save Portable Project AS is used. In the Windows version those items are here... That creates a number folder. Upload that folder as instructed above. Also, be sure that you are using the current Videopad release... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  18. Nothing mysterious about 'Borate', who is but a helper in this peer forum. There will always be some bugs, which are quickly addressed if confirmed. Your concern is being seriously looked into by a 'higher life form.' 'Stay tuned' means that if further info surfaces it will be reported here. Unfortunately, a fix for one issue sometimes can be detrimental overall. So, no guarantees. As mentioned, another NLE also displays a slight 'bump' at the juncture of the two files.
  19. Is this in preview or after exporting? If the latter, what are the export settings? What is the format and resolution of the source video? Confirm that the PC's video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html If possible, please share a project where this occurs and someone will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  20. Export them from OBS. More info in this forum. The output may include video but after importing to Videopad that can be ignorned.
  21. Indeed. But there is something about these files that chokes Videopad and also 'burps' slightly at the merge in another NLE. The best workaround found here is to change the frame rate. Stay tuned to this thread for possible further findings.
  22. All functions are working. But you must first select (swipe) the text...
  23. Replicated that fault, using your project VPJ file. But got a clean export when simply butting the two files together. That said, with a thirty-second snippet containing the join between the two files, the second file froze when the frame rate was 29.97. At most other frame rates, there was a slight discontinuity at the join but no freeze. Suspect this to be a file issue - perhaps the manner in which they were split - and will pass it along to the developers. This could be of interest. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Had files been moved? After clicking the RESOLVE button, the system file manager should open - allowing you to locate the correct files. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That's your protection.
  25. Thanks for sharing that info. Glad to hear that all is well.
