  1. Clips should never arbitrarily jump. It's possible that another edit affected them?? To isolate a clip, expand the timeline with the slider at the bottom-right of the window. Also, if clips are on track one, switch to Storyboard mode. Every clip, even gaps between clips, will be shown. Use the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  2. Click the 3-lined Menu at the top-left, then FILE | HELP | ABOUT. Here's the latest 64-bit release. Please share one of your problem files, as instructed above.
  3. The closest thing to that spotted here is to display the bin in LIST mode. Take a snip of the list, then run it through an OCR app to convert it to text. File a suggestion... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad
  4. Not common at all. It's unclear exactly what you mean by "jumbled up." If a mistake occurs, immediately press <ctrl-Z> to go back, step-by-step. That's the same as EDIT | UNDO.
  5. True. That's a reason to test the ZOOM only animation method demonstrated above. Or, perhaps, individual scaling and positioning via the MOTION effect. Share one of your UHD images.
  6. Try it this way. Make the bin copy, then drag the copy to the timeline. The initial clip will not be altered when the copy's text is changed. TextClip Test.mp4
  7. After creating the initial text clip, right-click it in the bin (top-right) and COPY. Then right-click in an open area of the bin and PASTE (Clip). Do this for as many clips as will be needed. Use each copy for new text, but don't mess with the master clip.
  8. Thanks for sharing. An i3 isn't going to be swift for video editing. With an i7 and an SSD here, your project took about five minutes to fully cache and thirty seconds to export, using suggested settings. On an i3 with a conventional drive, that slowed to about 11:30 to cache and 36 seconds to export. On the first attempt, VP hung. The second succeeded. The i7 test was made with the 32-bit version; the i3 with the 64-bit (recommended), which is often faster. Export usually can be initiated and will progress even if clip caching has not completed.
  9. Hard to say. When in clip viewing mode the brackets are shown. They appear when a clip or THE sequence (under the Sequences tab in the upper-right bin) is in focus. Rarely would one preview and trim the sequence folder in the bin, where you sliders had been moved. They don't appear in sequence viewing mode. Not necessary, unless you want to preview the sequence from the bin (not the timeline), and the Sequences tab above the bin (to the left of the Video tab) is missing. When a project is saved (as instructed above) it writes a VPJ instruction file to where clips are found, what effects and transitions are used, etc. Don't move the clips. When a project is backed up to a folder, it saves all source files + the VPJ. This is a portable project that should run on any PC that has Videopad installed.
  10. For UHD projects use the 64-bit version. If unlicensed, it will be a trial. Allow the green line, above the timeline of each video clip, to fully complete. That indicates that the clips have been cached. Also, watch the blue ribbon under the preview window. It eventually should turn from blue to purple, indicating that the sequence is cached. This can take time, but when both those ribbons have completed, playback should be seamless. Please share a DJI file and someone will test whether they can replicate your result. This can be private, or just post the link here. Follow these steps... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." If problems persist, it may be necessary to employ a technique commonly used by many editing systems. See https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/#comment-67619
  11. Many projects have multiple voice and music tracks, and it might be wise to purchase the 'pro' (master) release unless you feel that HOME will suffice. You should be able to export if you install one of the versions linked above. Open the link, which may automatically download the file. Locate it on the PC (likely in the DOWNLOADS folder) and double-click on it to install. Takes only seconds. If exports are still locked out try a Videopad UNinstall from the Windows Control Panel | Programs and Features list prior to installing a new VP release. Just be sure that you have backed up your project, as noted above. Then you can simply click on the VPJ file in the back-up folder to restore the project. If these measures fail, share the project and we'll supply a finished product. Follow these instructions precisely; it should take only minutes and the shared link can be posted here or to me via Personal Messenger - the envelop at the top-right of this forum. To share the project... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  12. Didn't note earlier that the Blue file was missing when the project linked for you was exported. Tested on another low-end PC, your export freeze at that clip was replicated. Blue is yet another file that most apps can't read correctly. Another NLE and several viewers report that they could not display it: "unknown codec." What's the source of those files? This has been fixed in the new link in the Personal Message Folder. It now exports cleanly on both tested machines here. If you still have issues, the completed export will be made available for you. Request it here.
  13. No need to panic! First... To protect your project always Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Try an AVI (instead of mp4) export. That often succeeds. Or, in lieu of a purchase... Reinstall the free version, which may re-enable export. Install the 'pro' version which even if unlicensed, should be fully featured for the trial period. If none of those measures succeed come back here. Discounts are frequent; there may be another one along shortly.
  14. That's a different sequence tab. If you don't see one to the left of the Video tab, create a new blank sequence by clicking the + sign on the sequence tab that's above the timeline... Then go to the bin and click the Sequences tab, and select the first sequence. It should show up in preview. Does that do the job?
  15. File a suggestion about the yellow bar... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad Of course, it can be vanquished by clicking on "Got It." As to speed, try it this way... Right-click the bin clip (top-left) and Change Clip Speed, then overlay it on the timeline. There should be no change in the speed that you set, or the length of the clip. There isn't here, using the current release.
  16. Click the Sequences tab (top-left) Select the sequence, so it appears in the preview window. You may see something like this... Drag the red bracket (far left of the blue line) all the way to the left. Drag the blue bracket to the far right. Does that take care of it?
  17. Hints at a PC resource issue. VP has gotten faster, not slower, over the past years. This could be a YT issue. Some tips. Use the 64-bit VP release if yours is a lengthy, UHD, complex project. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old installer and registration info. Close Videopad. Relaunch - but before loading anything - go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Close and relaunch. Close other programs while editing and exporting. Don't load files/clips that won't be actively used in the project. Clean Windows files. In the Windows search box type "clean files." If you take a few minutes to share a timed-export project, we can compare it here. Just follow the steps below carefully. What are your export settings? What are the PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM?
  18. One thing to try... Close VP. Relaunch it and before loading anything go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load the project. You can also try installing the latest release. Some issues cannot be analyzed unless folks can see the project. Sharing with other users here often resolves problems quickly. Good luck!
  19. Go to FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO A FOLDER. Select the folder. When the process completes there will be a numbered subfolder that looks something like this... Upload that folder, share (make the link public) and post the link here. All the source files and the VPJ will be in that folder so we can see what you see. Don't bother with an export; that's not needed.
  20. Follow the instructions above, which will create a folder with all files + the VPJ control file. That's the best and quickest way to solve the problem. Takes only minutes, can be private via a Personal Message and isn't difficult. Be sure, when uploading directly, that the "360" box isn't checked. What happens when you export at an mp4 and use YT's uploader?
  21. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Does a 1080p export mysteriously result in 360 video and bad audio? Or is it only when directly exported to YT? Try using their uploader for the 1080 file. To track this down we'll need to take a look at the project. Please share it here or in a Personal Message by closely following the instructions below.
  22. Thanks for sharing. In several tests no export freezing was detected in version 12.28(64). However, the laptop and joy-selling files are corrupt and would not export. This was confirmed with another NLE. Laptop was pure distortion; joy crashed. See your Personal Message for a revised project ZIP file, where those files have been repaired. Download, unzip, then run the VPJ to load it.
  23. The system looks to be very capable. But your link is only to the VPJ control file. What's needed is a folder that contains it + all the source files. Just follow these steps and we'll check it out...
  24. What are the PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Back up your work. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then close the program, relaunch it and go to OPTIONS | DISK tab. Clear Unused Cache Files. VideoPad has been known to crash due to problems with older graphics card drivers. If you are experiencing frequent crashes then you should download and install the latest drivers for your graphics hardware and update to the latest version of DirectX. AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 Yet another test you can make is to open OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab and in the bottom GPU Video Processor area click the caret and choose None | CPU only. Most problems are quickly addressed by working with folks here. To let them see what you see, take a few minutes to share the project. Please follow the instructions in your other thread and we'll take a look. And install the latest 64-bit release if you haven't already.
  25. Yes, the demo above was a rebuild of your video that did not glitch here when tested multiple times. But as you haven't shared the original files, to replicate your work here, we can't say whether they caused the issue. Glad it worked out.
