  1. Not seeing that here. Is this on the timeline, or at export? Please describe the exact steps that you take. Better still, record a video if possible. Record_2023_01_04_10_56_42_232.mp4
  2. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/tasks_chromakey.html This isn't an overlay. What's needed is a high contrast between the background and the subject, with no background color (usually green) in the subject itself. Then the colored background is keyed out and another substituted. Lighting and texture of the green screen should be consistent. For example...
  3. Had this been shot in front of a high contrast backround then chromakey (green screen) would have succeeded. But as is, results would be unacceptable.
  4. Cannot say for certain, but the default likely uses GPU when appropriate, along with CPU. If possible, install the latest version and submit a project whose export you have timed. Don't upload the exported result. List export settings.
  5. What version is being used? Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Default is usually fine, but it won't hurt to test the other settings. In what manner does it fail occasionally - any error messages? What are the PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Submit a project that you have timed when exporting. How long did it take and what were the export settings? Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. 6. The issue seemed to be fixed in 12.33, which is the current release. Give it a go.
  7. NCH has a policy of extending the license period to users who report confirmed bugs. This one was corrected in the 12.33 release.
  8. That's a shame. If the issue reoccurs come here with specifics and others will try to pin it down. As noted earlier, yours is a unique report.
  9. Nothing should be deleted. Just Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. In case of a crash, the autosave.vpj file is normally saved here... That doesn't eliminate all bugs, but when confirmed they are quickly addressed. Use the current version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. 10. Reinstalling (can take several tries) may revert the behavior. No need to re-download. Or, if you don't want a gap, just select the clip and press the DEL key. A right-click CLOSE GAP will close it as well.
  11. After purchase, updates (usually minor maintenance releases) are free for six months. There's no mandate to install them; your purchased copy won't expire. Try re-registering with the code sent to you at purchase. If you are installing a release that is newer than the six-month window, a prompt will appear saying that the code is for an older version. Either upgrade, or install an older version that was released within the free grace period. If this doesn't do the job for you, contact NCH.
  12. OPTIONS | DISK tab | Clear Unused Cache Files. Do this before beginning a new project.
  13. Please share a project - saved from the current version. Instructions in the post above. List how long it took to export, settings, operating system and your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM.
  14. That's on the wish list. Add your suggestion by clicking on the caret at the top-right of the VP window. Real-time is available in Wavepad. Save the edited file and import it back into Videopad. Alternatively, if the clip in Videopad has audio and video linked, right-click the audio track and Edit In Wavepad. When done, click the top-right red X to save and close. VP will reappear with the file added to the audio track. Then UNlink the original clip, delete its audio and slide the video over the newly edited audio track.
  15. Allow the project to fully cache, with the green line complete above each track's video clips. Also, under the preview window, the ribbon should change color if there are multiple tracks. Normally, this changes from blue to purple. This can take several minutes. But once cached, response should be good - if the hardware is up to the task. Large, high-def files extract a heavy load. A gaming-class PC is recommended. Install the current 64-bit VP version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. When starting a new project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. This can also be done periodically during an edit session. Do not load clips that won't be used in the project. For UHD content, proxies may speed up importing and editing. It's a common technique. See https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/?do=getLastComment If you'd like to share, follow these instructions and someone will compare their results with yours. 16. One method is to place the cursor at the head of the content (the one-minute mark). Place the pointer on the cursor line and drag right to the end of content. Right-click in the blue area and Export Selected region...
  17. The best place to report is right here. Verified issues are sent up the chain. There is a support link available from within Videopad. Click the caret at the top-right of the window and then click the Suggestions and Feedback item. https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad
  18. Doubtful that this is a bug, and as mentioned it's never before been reported. When issues are confirmed they are quickly addressed. Glad you worked it out.
  19. Never has here. Still seems to be a broader PC issue, especially considering that it used to work but now doesn't - even after reinstalling VP - and that other apps are not responding normally. Might be time to refresh Windows?
  20. Click the Windows 10 Forums link above, sign up or sign in and post specifics to the appropriate sub-forum. Your issues don't appear to be a Videopad problem.
  21. Perhaps you queried the wrong group.🙃 Don't know what operating system you run, but if it's Windows 11, check in here... Windows Eleven Forums If Windows 10, try... Windows Ten Forums Or try Videopad on another PC, if available.
  22. This all hints at a PC issue. All those apps should run. It might be time to check in with a Microsoft forum...
  23. There's never been an instance of the export window not opening, AFAIK. If you have a Google Account, try https://drive.google.com The same ID/PW works for all Google accounts. For a more complete uninstall, use Revo (free). When it prompts to delete registry entries, allow it. When done, reinstall VP.
  24. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Reboot the PC. If it still won't bring up the export window...did you first Uninstall via Control Panel? If not, try that next. Sign up for free drive space from another server, if possible, and share the project. Google Drive and MS OneDrive are candidates.
  25. Did you install the version linked above? To export, click EXPORT on the menu bar, the VIDEO FILE on the toolbar... Does the export window appear? Try another export format, such as AVI.
