  1. Occasionally WavePad v1.10 (basic ed.) freaks out and stops refreshing its windows. The overall window is mostly blank, but if the mouse is hovered over items with pop-up help text, the text pops up and then the button label(or whatever) is restored. This is on Windows XP SP2., This seems to occur if you type editing commands "too fast", such as Ctl-Home, Delete, ^R, etc. Clicking randomly on the blank center region until a valid button is clicked elicits the expected response. In other words, the widgets seem to be there, but you just can't see them any more. I tried minimizing and restoring WavePad, but it restored to the same whacked state. Saving the project, exiting, and restarting with the project file was successful, and thereafter I could continue using the project normally. I'm reporting this in the hope that the bug can be fixed someday.
  2. There is a bug somewhere when burning CD-RW disks with the built-in burning software of WavePad v1.10. When I burn several tracks to a CD-RW using the built-in burner (not Windows Media Player), the tracks are truncated to 1 KB. Using WMP does not seem to have this problem. The tracks were burned by selecting regions in the Region List and right-clicking, then "Copy Regions to CD". I clicked the checkbox to use the built-in burning software, and clicked the "erase CD-RW if not empty" box also. The burn seems to go okay and ejects the disk. But when I re-insert the disk, only the first few seconds play (using WMP), and when I open the disk as data the track files all have size 1KB (they should be around 10 MB each). One final note - the .WAV file I used to create the regions is in MONO format, not stereo.
