I was told by NCH technical support: "This is unfortunately a recognized issue for wmv files. I have added you to the watchlist so that you will be automatically informed when a fix is released." -Sonjoy I am having problems with wma files... not wmv. Also I tried installing ES on an old laptop and the same wma file will play just fine on the old laptop.

I am having the same problem. WMA files will play fine in windows media player but when I try to play them in express scribe the playback is too fast and high-pitched. When I open the file in express scribe there is a status message that says "decoding in direct X". When the file appears in ES the duration listed for the WMA file is much shorter than it should be (2 min instead of 4 min). MP3 files play correctly in express scribe.
