Hi, that is a very long file to be loaded into WavePad. You may need to split it into smaller segments before editing with WavePad.

My problem sounds a bit similar to the last member...

 

I've just installed WavePad 3.03 15 minutes ago to trial and it crashes every time I load a file I want to edit. Not a good start!

 

The first time I got an error message the app was going to be shutdown. All subsequent times it just quietly exits with no error message as soon as it's finished loading.

My file is a 765,101kB wave file (44100Hz 16bit PCM I copied off a CD).

 

My machine has is low-end, 256MB Pentium 1GHz Win 2000.

Try to delete the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\Ngoc\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad\Current" to see if it helps.

I NEED URGENT HELP!!!

I am supposed to edit some video footage by Friday for a Project, so it would be awesome if I could get help, like now. I am crossing my fingers.

 

I am on Windows XP SP2 and I am using WavePad v 3.03.

I go to open a *.mpg file, and it says

 

"wavepad.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

 

I know that Wavepad can do this, but it keeps crashing. I need some help soon! PLEASE?!?!?

 

I went on further into that system error message and I clicked on "To see what data this error report contains, click here"

 

"To view technical information about the error report, click here."

Then it names a temporary *.txt file which is included in the error report. I took that *.txt file and copied it below:

I am inclined to agree wth you about contacting tech help.  I purchased a support package as well, and have not had any reply to my inquiry for close to a week.  I can appreciate the fact that they are busy with large volumes of e-mail, but the auto response stating "someone will respond within 24 hours" and then not getting any acknowledgment kind of makes you wonder if your message was received at all.  Oh well, I guess we can hope that being that busy would suggest a quality product.

You can also post your question on this forum. We also often check it or other users can help you as well.

You can save it in different audio formats (like mp3, gsm, raw...) but that will make the file lose some quality. If you want to keep the sound quality, you can split the file into smaller segments by using "Edit->Split into two at this point" in WavePad.

How can I reduce my soundtrack files to an acceptable size for emailing and are there other common problems in making them email-ready ?

For WavePad, you can backup these folders: C:\Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad; C:\Documents and Settings\xxUserName\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad

can someone tell me how to back up my nch software in case i ever need to load it again. (maybe i should say "when", since it is only a matter of time until the dreaded hard drive re-format! lol)

It sounds very strange. How long is the file that you load into wavepad? We may have to send you a diagnostic version to help us figure out the problem? Please send an email by using the forum so that I can grab your email address from there.

Everytime I try to use one of the tools in WavePad it shuts down.  I click "Copy" WavePad disappears.  I click "Start Trim" WavePad goes away. I am using V3.03 on Windows 2000.  I've tried restarting.  Any ideas.

Hello.  I have not used the "amplify louder or softer" feature in a while.  When I attempted to highlight a section of sound and use "amplify" to reduce the sound, nothing happens.  The sound level stays exactly the same.  Version 2.01.  Windows xp.  Thanks.  Edward

Hi,

Which folder did you save the file in before you uninstalled WavePad? When WavePad is uninstalled, it will remove files in two folders "C:\Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad" and "C:\Documents and Settings\xxUser name\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad".

If you have saved the file in these two folders, unfortunately you cannot restore it back.

I just purchased Wav Pad and it did not restore any of the files that were deleted as a result of unintalling the trial version.  ANY SUGGESTIONS OR HELP locating and restoring the files I'm missing is greatly appreciated.  As you all know, it takes longer than 30 hours to record 30 hours of material.  Please help!

Hi, were launching a site in the very near future that would really benefit from having an mp3 editor, like Wave Pad, built into our platform. All we need is a 500kb demo of the uploaded mp3 file. Presently, someone at our organization is going to have to handle this editing function after the fact. We are in need of a simplified version of the existing product that offers visitors the ability to upload their mp3 and edit it right there on the platform. All we really need is "beggining/end markers" and perhaps an "envelope" to let them fade in/out their edited file. I would go out of my way to advertise the companies overall products on the site if we could somehow have this simplified version encoded into it. If someone representing Wave Pad see's this, or anyone who knows of such a way to accomplish this, we'd really appreciate it. Our site is going to be an interesting one.

Hi,

In the new version, we have changed "Settings" to be "Options". Please go to the menu File->WavePad Options and click on the "Audio Processing" tab.

However, I think your problem is because of the record device not the play device. You need to adjust the record device and input in the Record Control window (which is displayed after you click the Record button)

I'm brand new to this and having the same problem.  Just recording my voice but nothing happens.  I'm sure I have everything hooked up properly, playback gives background noise but no voice. I can't find the 'settings..audio processing page' anywhere.  Any suggestions?

How long is the file? Have you tried with a shorter file?

We have not got any report from other customers about the eq crashing on their computers. So we are not really sure what's wrong. Do you want to run a diagnostic version of WavePad to help us figure out the problem? If it is possible, can you please send me the sample audio file that you use?

If 3.03 is the version that automatically downloads when you go to the  wavepad home page, then I downloaded it, today.  Same problem with the eq.  Also, the pitch adustment feature is still crap, too.

 

I don't get it.  I'm getting the feeling that it's just me having the problem.  And what REALLY pisses me off is that the original version I downloaded back in January was perfect.  But like an ass, I replaced it with a newer version. 

 

If only I could go back to the trial version of Masters from January.  That was the best you guys ever had.  It's all gone downhill, since. 

 

I'm very disappointed, but thankfully, I can still rip cds and save them as wav or mp3 or whatever I want, which is why I originally downloaded this software.  My eq and pitch issues will just have to be resolved some other way, I guess.

 

By the way, just send me an email at onekingprods@charter.net, if you have anything further to suggest, or if you want to chastise me for my attitude.  I'm tired of coming to the message boards.  Nothing helpful here at all.

If you select the output format "wav", "raw" or "vox" then please note that:

The specified sample rate and channel in the "Convert Sample Rate" or "Convert Channel" command settings will be overwritten by the output format settings if they are different.

 

If you have more than one "Convert Sample Rate" or "Convert Channel" commands in the command list, this only applies to the last "Convert Sample Rate" or "Convert Channel" command.

So if your output format is wav, raw or vox, please select the sample rate by using the format settings on the last page of the batch converter.

Does it happen to all the files or a particular file only? Have you tried to save in different folder and different mp3 settings?

You don't receive any error message?

Please send me an email with your email address and I will send you a diagnostic version. Please also attach the sample file that you failed to save. We just couldn't repeat the problem on our computers.

Which mix file option do you select?

When I try to mix a sample over a music file I have a problem as the music file seems to start over from the start of the original mix point - am I doing something wrong? All I want to do is layer a sample over a track - I used to be able to do this with the old version - please help!

p.s - I select 'mix file..' and select my sample - why won't this work? Very strange.. would much appreciate some help!

Ive just installed this program and what i was wondering is, i recorded a drum part earlier into a Mic, and i just recorded a guitar part into a mic so i have 2 files now guitar and drums........when i load both the files into the program is there anyway i can play both the files together so i can edit them in time properly together as it only seems to let me play 1 file or the other. but i want to here them both playin the same time so i can see if there in time with each other so i can edit them properly.

I have free version 3.02 installed. I have tried to get this to work, even tuned the parameters right up. But nothing happens, does this only work in the full version? If not can someone please help?
