  1. I've been having this problem lately too, after more than 2 years of using various versions of Debut. I screen-capture webcams on two i7 laptops, the playback is terrible and editing (cutting and joining) therefore difficult. I changed from recording in avi to mp4, which eased the problems a little.
  2. NBCSN.com is the website of the National Board for Certification of School Nurses :-/ Have you done a typo? If you give the correct site I can ask someone I know who does watch EPL matches online.
  3. You need to click on the A near the bottom right-hand corner. If you hover your mouse over the timeline box (that's what I call it, don't know what the official name is), a set of guidelines for the codes will "pop down", have a practice until you get what you want. I can't upload any more screenshots, no matter how small I try to make them they are rejected as being too big Here is an example of what you can do:
  4. When uninstalling the program you should get the option, amongst others, to downgrade to the free version ("fewer features", but I don't know yet how crippled it is).
  5. Second pic is how the recording should look.
  6. Deleted post, picture insert in preview but not when submitted.
  7. Attachment failed (I failed actually ) Here it is:
  8. The two screens below should be exactly the same size, with the date/time more-or-less central under each one. I've reset the capture area several times, rebooted, tried to find a setting to change, no luck. Am afraid to reinstall Debut because NCH restrict the number of reinstallations and I think I'm at my limit, having already had to reinstall it due to performance problems but it had been working great for ages.
  9. Alienware M11x-R3 Windows7 Home Premium 64-bit I've been trying to install Debut on this new laptop but as soon as Debut launches and I click anywhere my whole system freezes, even Task Mgr, there's no solution but to shut down. I've tried several versions, including 1.66 which NCH sent me a few days ago because it has a fix which I had requested (no milliseconds in running-time). My other laptops are happily running 2 different versions of Debut without serious problems. Before each new attempt to install I've uninstalled Debut completely with Revo Uninstaller. Please assist! I've got my credit card at the ready ;-)
  10. The black screen recordings bug seems to have fixed itself, but am having some problems editing the footage. Not sure what to put that down to, am monitoring and experimenting
  11. I've tried 2 laptops and am just getting white page from the download link you gave, Kirill
  12. I'm having exactly the same problem with a Windows7 64-bit installation that's been working fine for months, just started today. Also, I've been trying to download Debut for my new laptop (yet another one!!!) but when installed it totally freezes my system, I can't even use Task Mgr to shut down. Now it's saying I've used up 14 days trial period but it's never been able to be used. I fully intend to buy a licence for the new lappy but not until Debut is fixed. Any idea what's happening, Kirill? I have 3 birds' nests to keep track of so I need 3 Debuts I think I've totally muddled up my reg numbers too, cos my existing installations are indicating they are not registered. I'll try that link you just gave for the new lappy and report back - just had to have a panic. P x
  13. Firstly, sorry I haven't responded before but I didn't get a notification of your post - must check if that can be fixed! I had the same problem re discovering Date/Time. This is a copy of my date/time setting, you don't have to use the same order, you could have Month/Day/Year if you're American (I added GMT because I display internationally, and separators for clarity when I'm editing): %YYYY% %MM% %DD% || GMT || %HH% %MIN% %SS% Screenshot of the interface (Stroke Color = font outline): http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y40/satissa/PCs%20AV%20etc/?action=view&current=2012-01-1808-48-31_DebutProfessional.jpg It was quite fiddly getting the font as I wanted it, here's an example (not brilliant quality video, but it's a live webcam on an owls' nest and I'm recording in flv for speed's sake, then it's been extracted from a long clip with an editor and uploaded to YouTube via same - so, a lot of processing, but quite honestly it's not much different from the original): I will try to remember to check back in case you need further assistance. EDIT - No reply notifications are available, only for PMs, so please feel free to PM me to let me know you've posted here clemenzina
  14. I have received advice that date/time settings are available under the caption "A" button. (Thought I'd mention it here on the forum so that visitors have access to the info.) Thanks a lot, I'm working on it!
  15. As I record very long continuous footage, say up to 9 hours, it would be very helpful when editing if the date and time could be displayed. (It would also be useful for validating "occurrences" in the video.) I can't see a way of doing this via Debut's own functions but wonder if there's an add-on that would do it, or some way of overprinting it on the capture area... Am lost really - anyone have any (polite) suggestions? PS - I note that NCH says the following about Debut: "Add your own text captions or time stamp your video" ...have watched the video tutorial but only text captions are covered. clemenzina
  16. Unfortunately I was prevented from using my licence key for the 1.61 buggy version to register the working version 1.64, so I uninstalled the (also buggy) 1.62 licensed version from my other laptop, installed 1.64 on this one and entered my 1.62 licence key - whereupon I was told that I'd used up all my reinstall permissions and they'd reset it this time but "we will not do it again for 12 months" Lord knows if I'll be allowed to install 1.61 on the laptop I took 1.62 from (are you following? )... I've never come across this before, where a software company deliberately releases faulty software, takes money for it, and disclaims any responsibility if you didn't check every claimed function of the program for bugs before you paid. It's not as if just one version was faulty - 1.61, 1.62 and 1.63 all are. So anyone who bought 1.61 is totally stymied because 1.64 is too many versions ahead to be licensed. Kirill, I appreciate you trying to guide, but the link you provided doesn't give access to beta versions. As Debut do not support this forum I shall have to seek advice on other video help forums and Facebook. I realise that NCH claim that paid-for support is available, but I no longer trust them.
  17. Or you can minimise the Debut GUI and use hotkeys to start/stop recording - they are very easy to set up with your own preferences
  18. I've just installed 1.64 and the problem seems to be well and truly FIXED! I only hope that my licence will stretch to this version - I need to use exactly the same features as in 1.61 (record screen area, snapshot screen area, capture sound from speakers) - but working properly, which they now are. If all goes well I shall publicise the success on YouTube (and tag 300 of my videos with Debut) and Facebook QUESTION: Is snapshot available with hotkeys in the FREE version of Debut? I need to recommend something to a friend who can't afford to buy.
  19. The original 1.63 wouldn't hold the selected screen area at all, as far as I remember, I simply couldn't use it. This new download which I installed this morning records the selected area but moves it between sessions. 1.61 won't hold snapshot area but holds recording area fine. I'll have another look to make sure I've got the right download. Thank you Kirill, I appreciate your attention I don't see anything to indicate a beta version via that link.
  20. Thanks for the info, Kirill, I will try the new release and report back Reporting back: It's recording the selected area fine, but is capturing the whole screen for snapshots. I've been thru the settings and can't see anything to address this. 2nd EDIT I have to uninstall it, it changes the selected area after stopping recording (shifts it to a larger rectangle in line with the upper and left margins of the screen), so that the area has to be re-selected before recording again. This was not a problem with 1.61, Debut 1.63 is still useless for my purposes. 3rd EDIT I can't work out what's causing the rectangle to be moved, I'm wondering if it's the use of a shortcut key to stop recording. It's not consistent. Version 1.61 works for me as long as I don't use snapshot. I have found another program to do that job, but it's a shame to have to do so.
  21. I've got 2 laptops and have purchased Debut Video Capture Pro for both. The first was v1.61, which works fine for recording an area on my screen - except that when I take a screenshot with hotkey the capture rectangle skews across the screen and the result is useless. Version 1.63 is unusable because even the recording capture rectangle doesn't hold, so I had to downgrade to 1.61. I didn't pay extra for support :-/ but have submitted a bug report, however I can't upload the example file because I can't understand the 2 NCH FTP programs I've tried - but then, I don't understand the first thing about FTP.
