  1. I honestly think there's something screwy with any of the native codecs. I've been saving all my videos as AVIs using codecs already installed to my machine and have been having no trouble. But anytime I try to save using a native codec (which you have to for MP4, but is thankfully optional for AVI), it just looks awful.
  2. So, I've been making a few videos through FRAPS and editing them through VideoPad (after converting them once, due to VideoPad still crashing when it works with FRAPS videos). My monitor is not widescreen, but rather runs at a native resolution of 1024×768. Until recently, I've been making my videos at 720p. Recently, though, I've been hitting the "Detect" button so it makes the video in the resolution of the source videos. But that has been crashing x264.exe, which I assume is the Windows 7 64-bit native h.264 codec. It seems to be a pretty repeatable problem, and I just tried encoding that same video in 720p and it worked fine. So... what's going on? Does it not like that resolution?
