  1. Thanks Nat, I followed your instructions and they worked. I was a bit disappointed with the final result, however. The stabilised video, when played on my TV, shimmered too much to make it watchable. Perhaps the original video was just a little bit too shaky.
  2. Having overcome the problem of audio/visual synchronisation I now have a second question. Having added all the clips in correct order I stabilise them one by one and move them down to the clips area below. The problem is that, as I move them down, the clip I last moved is placed ahead of the previous clips (i.e. if I have five clips to process, the fifth clip will be at the front of the video and the first clip at the end. How can I overcome this?
  3. Success! I converted the clips from MP4 to MP2 and video and audio are now synchronised.
  4. Hi, My prospects of producing a high definition DVD don't seem promising. I will try and work out how to convert the clips to MPEG2 and see how that goes. I have posed the problem to the NCH help desk but their suggestion wasn't helpful. I have followed up my original post with a second one and am awaiting a reply. I tried to install trial versions of a similar Cyberlink program but at the end of the installation I was told that the downloaded files were corrupt. I will continue searching for an inexpensive video editing program which works. Regards, Michael
  5. Nat, Thanks for your advice. I have just played back a clip on my camcorder and compared it to the same clip on Videopad. I am embarrassed to say that I have discovered that the audio on Videopad is NOT in synch with the video after all! The audio on Videopad starts earlier than the video and, consequently, also finishes earlier. I could not tell this before because it seemed that my wife started talking while she had her back to me (which she didn't). Does this give you any clues? Regards, Michael
  6. Thanks for your reply Nat. The sound was in synch up to the point that it stopped. I noticed also that there were several blank (black frames) at the end of each clip though the preview showed the whole clip. How do I convert MPEG4 to MPEG2? Does this require video converter software? I saw this solution mentioned elsewhere in the forum as the answer to out-of-sync video/audio.

    Moving clips

This may well have an obvious answer. I'm new (see previous post) and have not been able to work out how to move clips. Dragging doesn't seem to be the way to do it. I find that each clip I move from Files to Clip is placed in front of the earlier clip.
  8. I have just downloaded Videopad and captured a number of clips from my high definition camcorder. While previewing the second and third clips I found that while the video continued to the end, the audio stopped prematurely leaving silence instead of my wife talking. Am I right in believing that I cannot create a main menu and submenus in Videopad?
  9. I have just imported video from my camcorder and gone through the basic process for producing a movie for burning to a DVD. When I play the DVD on my TV I get a menu which gives me the choice of selecting Movies, Pictures or Audio. selecting any of these produces no result. I admit that I have done this in a hurry, but I can't see where I've missed a step. Where have I gone wrong?
  10. Thanks Nat. My video is in .AVI format.
  11. I have just stabilised five clips, the longest of which was two minutes. Apart from the fact that this took an awfully long time, the result was unexpected. The top half of the stabilised clip was the actual video, whilst the bottom half was wavy coloured lines. obviously this wasn't worth burning. I am new to Videpad; is there an explanation for this result?
