  1. Nope never a word. If you find the answer somewhere please pass it to me.

    Thanks

Updates are free for 90 days after purchase. It is strongly recommended that you make a backup of your current version before updating.

  2. Hi,

Thanks for using Express Burn and your interest in getting a Portuguese version. Unfortunately, due to the way our development and translation procedures work, all translation must be done internally. However, we have been looking at the feasibility of translating our products into Portuguese at some point in the future. This may or may not happen, but it's something we consider.

  3. if i uninstall it before 14 days for example at 8th day can i install it for remaining trail time?

Yes. But note that the trial starts from the first day you installed it. So, if you uninstall on the 8th day and reinstall 5 days later, you will only have 1 day remaining.

  4. i have had express burn for a few years now. all of a sudden on this past thursday, it started getting a little funky. i insert a disk and drag my file in to burn (dvd) and instead of burning the dvd it creates a data disk. I thought that maybe i was just an idiot and redid it, but the same thing happened. examining closer, i notice that after i put the file into express burn and click burn video dvd, the info box is completly locked. the burner drive offers only image file, and everything else i.e write speed and copies to burn etc. are set and untouchable. i downloaded the new version (4.52)and am getting the same result. what am i doing wrong?

Are you able to test this with a different burner?

  5. I've received a few messages regarding MP3 CDs and Express Burn. There seems to be a little confusion over the topic, so I'm posting an update we made to the help files. This will be in the upcoming release, but in the meantime:

An MP3 CD is simply a data disc which contains .mp3 (or possibly .wma and .ogg) files which can be read and played by a standard CD or DVD player. The main benefit to creating an MP3 CD over a conventional Audio CD is that .mp3 files are highly compressed, so more songs are able to be burned to the disc. In contrast, if .mp3 files are used to create an Audio CD (a CD type that records only uncompressed .wav files, meaning your .mp3s will be converted), the 74 or 80 minute play time of the disc limits the number of songs that can be stored.

To create an MP3 CD, select the "CD Data" disc type in the toolbar and then add .mp3 files to the file list. Burn the disc as normal. The disc can now be played in any player that supports MP3 CDs.

    Please Note:

There is no official standard for MP3 CDs. As such, playback may vary from player to player and can lead to imcompabilities and difficulty in playing discs. The following suggestions can help eliminate some problems:

    * Limit the .mp3 filename to under 40 characters

    * Do not place .mp3 files in sub folders

    * Do not use special characters (i.e. UNICODE) in .mp3 filenames

Also note that some players, especially older ones, do not support playback of MP3 discs. Check with manufacturer documentation for more information.

Good news! We now have an MP3 Disc feature built directly into Express Burn. Just load any audio file and Burn will create an MP3 CD for you.

  6. OK, I can capture the streaming video & audio, I am looking for information on what type of files to comvert them INTO to be able to burn them to a CD (in this case) so that they will be able to be shown via a "standard" (Non-PC) player to a TV set. This program (recomended to me by NCH) does not have a "burn Video to CD" only burn audio to CD. So I aam looking for the method (file types & commands/Icons) to get the job done.

When you are loading files to burn to your Audio CD, you can use video files as well. On the load files dialog, change the type to "Video Files". It will list the types of video supported, but any common format (.mpg, .avi, .wmv, etc.) should work.

  7. Trying to burn a Streaming A/V to CD or DVD, show on TV set. CD in this case since video is only 5min long.

I was able to burn the audio but it did not include the video.

what is "best practice" to get this done?

Burn doesn't have a way to do that directly. What I do at home is use FlashLynx for songs on YouTube or SoundTap for recording NPR and then burn the captured files to a disc.

  8. Hi and thanks for a good application - works almost great The problem I have is that the inclusion/exclusion list logs every hit for a file that it includes/excludes. My guess is that it is the actual logging that takes time and that makes the sync take several seconds due to that I have a lot of files in the watch dir. Is there a way to turn off logging or any other way to speed up the sync? I'm running Fling 2.24.

    Kind Regards

    Per

Currently, there is no way to disable logging. However, the issue seems to be with the engine itself and that is one of the areas we are looking at improving.

  9. I set up fling to go out to a server and download any files in an ftp directory and delete them when it is done.

The directory is public_html/jes/request Problem is that it downloads the first one, says it cannot delete it, then it creates a directory on the server and on the local machine with this path:

public_html/jes/request Then says it fails to download the second file as it's not found (which would be because it's not in the directory it created and is now looking in.

Any clue as to why this could be?

Attached is a picture of the setup info.

This is actually a bug in the software and should be fixed in the next release. Thank you for pointing this issue out to us.

  10. I am using Windows XP Professional (Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600). I have purchased ExpressBurn with Video (Version 4.42). I have made a video with Windows Movie Maker (Version 5.1). My disc drive is a Matshita DVD-Ram UJ-841S. I have followed Microsofts instructions on how to 'Save Your Movie on a DVD" for saveing a movie...as a high-quality video file for burning to a DVD using a DVD burner and video DVD burning software for playback in a standard DVD player. I have gone through NCHs help menues and have looked at the topics in this forum. One topic suggested check marking 'Use FFMPEG..." under the File tab and then the Options tab. I have even tried this. I have done nothing on my computer while burning a DVD as suggested by the ExpressBurn user manuel. I have tried everything suggested, that I could find and I have not yet been able to burn a working DVD that will play in a DVD player and on a TV. Every disc will play on my computer, but I always get an error message when trying to play the DVD in a DVD player.

I have tried to give all of the background information in this post to assist in getting a answer that will work for me in my situation. A local computer repair shop just thinks the problem is with the Windows XP platform. Is this true or is there some way to make this work?

Thanks (in advance) for your help.

    Sincerely, Evan

What is the manufacturer and model of your DVD player? Also, why type of disc are you burning to? What is the brand of disc?

  11. Oh BTW my version is Express burn Plus V 4.42

Sense Key 05 30 05 is CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT. Is it possible that you are attempting to write to a disc that is not supported by your drive?

  13. Using FastFox to expand text in an internet explorer window (including this one)and nothing happens all you see is the text that needs to be expanded. Happens with any key combination, both simple and rich text. Happens in IE8 and IE9 both runnig Java 6 update 7. All machines are Windows 7.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We've logged a bug and will look into it.

  14. Just bought Express Burn Video Plus 4.42 to create copies of DVDs but it seems that it can only copy data-DVD. I created my own video DVD using VideoPad and now I wish to create copies of it without the need to re-encode the entire stream.

Any suggestions on how to do the copying of video-DVD's?

It should be able to copy a non-copyrighted DVD just fine. Can you go into more detail?

  15. I am using Classic FTP on Mac Tiger 10.4.11, Firefox. While experimenting with uploading folders/files to my personal webspace at my ISP (Bell Sympatico), I try to delete those same folders/files from the right window in Classic FTP, they all delete except for one folder where I get the error message that Classic FTP cannot delete this particular folder. There is nothing in this folder, I think I tried to rename it, nothing worked. After an hour on the phone with my ISP tech support (they even took control of my computer with Logmein) they were unable to delete the folder. I even let them play with Classic FTP, no success. How can I delete this folder from the right window aka my personal webspace? I am not of the computer generation, not much of a techie, so please make your reply easy to follow. Thanks, Ken.

This may be a bug with Classic FTP. We'll have to look into it to see if we can find a solution.
