  1. I forgot to say that you will have to untick and retick the box for allow access (local) you do not need to tick the internet one at all and I also forgot to say it the local one you need to set only to "Computer host" try and click on the link beside the local access and see does it open the web interface. if not pm me you mobile number and I will give you a ring and talk you though it. I have no problem in ring you as I am in Ireland and I have also got free international calls
  2. Hi Ian, I have tryed it here if you do whats below should work in Inventoria under web managmet Local access set mode to "computer Host" and note the port mine was "1097" then set the code for inventoria sysnc usnder other-advanced options also this code will be needed for express accounts now go into express account go to other- inventoria sysnc options put in the code you set in inventoria for sysnc options for address or IP address put in the name which was given beside "computer host" in inventoria put in the port number noted from invertoria then click retreive locations and should happen quick and the set the location then update now and you should be done. let me know how you get on. I will try and do out it better if you still don't get it to work.
  3. NCH_TM Thank you very much for the link.
  4. Hi Ian, try and put in 127.0.0.1 as the ip address (its the IP address that is for localhost ie as in local on the pc) it should tell the software that it is local on the pc and stop it from given you problem. I will have a go at it later on you workshop pc and let you know and if I get it working will post it in how I done it
  5. It does and you and you have to go to Options - Other - Inverntoria Synchronization Settings ( scroll down when you go to Other and you should see this option) This is on the latest version of Express accounts 4.72 I will have some Idea how to set it up as I am setting up 4/5 PC with copper (POS) and on the Back Office PC will have copper (setup for back office), Inverntoria and express accounts as well. I will let you know in a few day or so when I have it all setup and running on how to do it.
  6. Hi Graham, I have just looked to see if I can change it and I can't also will be a problem to my business. I also have another problem I am using the free version and have up dated it before I went away for 2 week holadays and now I can't even do an invoice. I feel I am been bulled in to buying the software when I don't need any of the plus options and I am one man business as well I have had no problem with this on till the latest version and they don't even say this on there web site and would like to know where the free version is gone to.
  7. The latest version does allow to be networked. you need one to be the main one and then all the other will connect to it. If you can give me a few days I will do a mini how to as in how to network them. I am about to set up 3/4 pcs with copper on them.
  8. I hope I can explain this to you. It is to do with rounding up and down with vat. £150.75 /1.2= £125.625 ex vat round this up would be £125.63 then take it a way from your total and you get £25.12 which is the way I would do it. If you do it this way you could be done £125.62 * 1.2 =£150.744 and if you round it up you be see as taking that 1/2p but if you let it go they would not bother you as much and do it this way 125.64 * 1.2 = 150.756 and round it down to 150.75.
  9. Hi I have a checked it and the paid for version on the android also does not have backup and restore. I never thought of looking for it when I bought the app.
  10. Hi, I have the paid for version and will check it later for you as I am near my tablet at the min. Will let you know as soon as I can
  11. A-men, It looks like it and the ones you have been working for would be only paying the vat of £560 which would be £112 add this to £560 which is £672 is what you were been paid and you have done yourself by £28 inc vat if you take the vat off that it would be £23.33 have been losing a week, which does not seem bad on till you look at 52 weeks in 1 year and then 8-9 years of doing it. I would say you should check it out as soon as you can. Tony Here is the way I do my vat work outs. take £700. and 20% vat To add vat to 700 you will x it by 1.20 and you will get it with vat ( 1. is as if you divided it by 100 after you multiply it by 20, so just put the vat after the point like so 1.20 and then you will get the total inc vat) To take away the vat from 700 you will divide it by 1.20 and you will get the total ex vat. ( 1. is as if you multiplied it by 100 after you divided it by 20, so just put the vat after the point like so 1.20 and then you will get the total ex vat) Hope this helps you in the future
  12. A-men, I have still been trying to work this out. I think I have. I think the vat rate should be 25% you should be working with and not 20%. If I use 25% and take it from £700 it works out as you where trying to do. I do know that the vat rate is 20% on goods but I am not sure if it changes when you do work for someone as labour. You need to check this out as soon as you can as can if it is 20% like I have said above in my last post you have been done. If it is 25% then add a new vat rate and set it to be default for that item by setting it under that item.

    free?

It was free up on till the last update and a friend is doing my head in as I got him to change from quickbook to invoice express as his business is not doing well and its only himself and his bro that are running it now and now he cannot invoice customers on the spot because he can't use the web access.
  14. Hi A-men, I have been looking at this for over an hour and tryed to work you are getting £140 is 20% of £700. I have a course on accounts and I can not get it to work out what your tax your getting (£140) try this on a calculator and you will see for yourself that 700 / 1.20 will be 116.67 in tax you take your answer from £700. I am thinking who ever told you what you have been saying is doing you up to your eyes. If you know someone who know there accounts go and ask them because I am lost and I have done it a few way and can not get it to work out 20% of £700 = £140 look at this way £14 an hour inc 20% and you have worked 50 hours then that is £700 inc 20% if you do what I said above means you should get £583.33 ex 20% vat which means vat is £116.67 . I can not get 20% of £700 to work out as £140.
  15. You can do via options, Invoice layout, Style and scroll down the list on the right and you should see options show up in drop down boxes and you can set the ship to NONE. this is on version 3.83 and newer

  18. Hi Colm, No problem. I am happy to hear that it has worked out the way you wanted it to. I also use a barcode scanner. Its a bluetooth scanner as I use it with my android tab or my phone when doing callouts as it make it easy to track pc hardware that I use or need to see when it was sold to them. Tony.
  19. Hi, Most usb barcode scanners act like a keyboard plugged in to usb. You should have no problem in using one.
  20. You can do it under Options - Other - Advanced setting - Set options for checks
  21. What version of the software are you using. I am using latest version 4.57 and it has what you are looking for.
  22. Hi Ben I have tryed every which way to get it to work and did not get any thing to work. I will keep you posted on my finding and will post how to get it working if I work it out. Tony
  23. Hi, I am sorry to to say it the only way is to leave the computer on 24/7/365. I got my hands on a eeepc nettop pc and using it for express accounts as it uses very little power. I have also set up expess accounts for a friend at the start of this year on a old laptop. The laptop screen is broken and he use web access to do all his work and he has a extrenal montor pluged in to the laptop so he can do work on it if he needs bu he has told me he has never used it yet. pyz01, I can tell you I have a acer W500 table that runs windows 7 and express acount and other app out there run very well on it. There is one problem with express accounts beening on the table and on a pc in the office there is no way to merg the 2 togeather and I dont see any new order my wife or my brother takes an order in the office. I am using the web access for about 3 years now and its grate and if any of my costmors ask for a copy of an old invoice or a statment I can print it for them on the spot or e-mail it to them. Tony
  24. You can if you setup the web access in express accounts and the computer that express accounts is on has to be on all the time goto "Tools" then "Options" Goto the tab "Web Accounts" and setup a account when done goto "Web Access" Clike start. will also have to "run web routing and test wizard. you mite also have to configure your modem for your internet yourself.
