  1. Hello again, Well, now I feel a little happier. I've connected up one of the leads that came with the card, looks a little like a splitter, labelled 1 and 2. This has now eliminated the drop-offs and the DTMF problems when navigating through the menus. However, I'm still not able to record anything. For additional information, when the caller selects to Send the recording, a prompt is given saying Recording Deleted. When choosing to save the recording, the user is then returned to the recording menu. If the caller then presses 2 to select existing recordings they are told there are no recordings present on the system. Anyone able to help? John
  2. Hi all, CAUTION: LONG POST! Just installed Dial Dictate on a PC along with a new Synway 4-port telephony card (PCI). Using the software that came with the card, which was recommended by NCH, we're able to successfully test any feature of the card. The trouble starts when using the DD software. With a single line connected, we phone in from an external line. The call is answered, DD shows this status on screen. The call is then dropped within 2-3 seconds, cutting off the standard answering message. We've found that we can get around this 90% of the time by pressing a button on the calling telephone keypad as soon as we hear the answering voice. The other 10% of the time, the call is dropped anyway. Once into the system, we can navigate partially through the menu system, but are often left with silence, sometimes for several seconds, sometimes until we press another key. If we press another key we get either the required option or something completely different. This happens 50% of the time. If we manage to successfully get to start a recording there is no audible indication for the caller to start speaking. Once the recording has been made and the caller elects to save their recording, the status in DD on screen indicates that there is no recording. When checking the folder chosen to save the recordings to, there is no data present. We have tried enabling/disabling the onboard audio for this PC. We have tried different ports on the telephone card. We have tried calling from different telephones in case there're issues with DTMF signals (which there were calling from some mobiles). When using the Test.exe software we are able to successfully dial in, pickup, hangup, detect DTML signals, etc., without error. A starting point to resolve these issues would be good. A complete list of solutions would be better, obviously! Thanks for reading this far. John
