  1. Hi Folks, I've already successfully completed a project on MixPad recording all instruments/sounds using an old computer running Windows 2000. The trouble is that because the computer is old everything took FOREVER to do because it's so slow! Lucky enough to be able to get a brand new computer and running MixPad now is a dream as the computer is so quick. However, just started recording another project with the first track laid down being straight piano (as with my first project, I'm using a Yamaha Portatone PSR 270) and when I played the recorded track to hear what it sounds like, it's turned into a flanged/phased piano sound! I've looked at all the settings (at least I believe I have)both on MixPad on my keyboard, but I can't understand why this is happening. I'm now wondering whether it's something to do with using Vista. Anyone else had this problem and if so, any answer(s)? Ace
  2. Hi Potetz, The way I do it is: 1) Have the recorded drum track coming out of the speakers connected to my computer's speaker-out socket. 2) Use a single standard (quarter inch) stereo jack to double 3.5mm stereo sockets adapter 3) Plug the standard jack into my instrument 4) Plug a pair of volume adjustable headphones into one of the 3.5mm sockets 5) Plug a 3.5mm stereo jack to stereo jack into the other socket with 3.5mm jack at the other end of the wire plugged into my computer. So, you can hear the recorded tracks through the speakers; your instrument through your headphones (on one ear only if you prefer) and meanwhile the 3.5mm lead will also take the instrument signal into MixPad. The only thing you have to look out for is the possibility of a tiny signal delay (depends on the power of your computer). Hope you understood all that.....and good luck! Ace

    Keyboard

Hi Roy, Never did get back to you to say 'Thanks', so here it is! I carried out your suggestion and with another couple of settings tweaked, I've started recording. Result! Thanks again. ACE

    Keyboard

Hi Folks, Recently downloaded MixPad so just starting to play about with it. I got the impression that, as you can download your voice, you could download a live instrument particularly as there's also the Instrument Tuner software. But I can't record my keyboard onto a track (connected through an ISB/MIDI box). Am I overestimating the facilities/capabilities on the MixPad software or am I doing something wrong? The MixPad manual also says "You can specify what sound recording device, recording channel and other recording options you want to use for a track by right clicking on the track and selecting Set Recording Device." But I don't see that Set Recording Device option either. I'm a bit lost! acebass
