  1. I have some legacy software and a down level Windows 98 OS... long story... Anyways, I have recorded a lot of sound files in MP2 format using a program made by Iomega called RecordIT. It's native format is *.MP2. It can't read or save to *.MP3 format. I would like to be able to convert these files to *.MP3 so that I can share them over E-mail. The MP2 files that I have are an average size of 8 megabytes plus... so even one file will blow most e-mails out of the water because of their buffer size limitations. I want to convert these files to Wave files. I have the ability to encode Wave files as MP3 files. Only I can't encode MP2 files as MP3 files. I don't know why, but you just can't. Most programs I have seen think my MP2 files are video files. Well, they really aren't. HALP!!!
