  1. What version of Windows Media Player do you have? What version of DirectX? Do the PC's that do work have different versions?
  2. Configuring where Express Scribe saves in-progress dictations (Options -> "Disk Usage" -> "Data Folder") is different from configuring where it automatically loads dictations from (Options -> Incoming -> Add). Note that these two settings should definitely not point to the same directory. You'll need to make sure that each speaker is using a separate account to access Dial Dictate, and that the recordings are sent in DCT file format. Then Scribe will be able to populate the Speaker column from the information in the DCT file.
  3. What device was used to record these files? Were they recorded in some kind of long play mode? Do they play correctly in Windows Media Player? If by "other systems", you mean Express Scribe on other PC's, then maybe you need to update your version of the Sony plugin? Sony Player Plug-in v2.1.01 for Windows Media Player
  4. Web Dictate v2.01 was released on October 2nd. You can find the version number on the status bar of the main window, in Help -> About, in the header of the "Web Control Panel", and several other places. As with all NCH software, upgrades are free for three months from the day you purchased your licence.
  5. If enough people requested it (Help -> "Send Improvement Suggestion or Feedback"), you might be able to convince the developers to implement it.
  6. As mentioned above, you need Web Dictate v2.01 or later for Express Delegate support.
  7. Launch Web Dictate's "Web Control Panel", click on the Recipients tab, add or modify a recipient, then under "Send Method" select "Express Delegate" and configure the server and login details.
  8. I have reproduced the problem here using Pedable v1.01 on Windows XP with a VEC Infinity IN-DB9. Unfortunately this appears to be a bug, and I don't know of a work-around. Please report it using the Help -> "Send Bug Report" menu item.
  9. Express Delegate support was added to Web Dictate in v2.01. Express Dictate and Web Dictate do similar jobs, so there's no integration between them. Have you installed "Sony Player Plug-in for Windows Media Player" as described at http://www.nch.com.a...pport.html#SONY? The plug-in must be installed on the machine acting as the Web Dictate server.
  10. In Express Delegate, follow the instructions to create an account for each of the speakers and typists. Then, in Express Dictate, select Options -> Sending and create or modify a recipient. In the "Send to Typist Recipient Properties" dialog that's shown, under the Recipient tab, change the "Send Method" to "Expess Delegate", and configure the server and logon details.
  11. What screen resolution does it have? You can hide the main tool-bar, the small tool-bar, or the notes using the items in the View menu. The playback control buttons can't be hidden.
  12. Does this question relate to Classic FTP or Fling?
  13. Private and corporate usage are the same - there aren't any extra restrictions. You can view the full licence terms when you run the installer, or in Help -> "Help Contents..." -> "Software License Terms". There isn't an MSI installer, unfortunately.
  14. Changes in Express Scribe v 4.37 for Windows: Fixed: VEC Infinity IN-USB-1 foot pedal auto-detection now works for 0x0110 revision hardware. Fixed: Typographical error in the Attachments dialog. Fixed: Attachments dialog "Save As" and Open buttons are now disabled when more than one attachment is selected. Changed: File types for incoming sources are no longer limited to DCT, WAV, MP3, AIF.
  15. Express Scribe v4.37, which is currently in beta testing, has a fix for auto-detection of a particular hardware revision of the VEC Infinity IN-USB-1 foot pedals.
  16. What version of Express Scribe are you using? What version of Windows? When you say the Load option, do you mean File -> "Load Dictation File(s)..."?
  17. You will still be able to run the application and listen to recordings, etc., but some functionality (eg. sending dictations) will be disabled.
  18. Thank you. A fix has gone into testing.
  19. MSRS is primarily a recording application. For playback and / or transcription, Express Scribe has hot-key / foot pedal control, jumping to bookmarks, muting channels, etc.
  20. Is View -> "Show Notes Window" enabled? Is Options -> Hot-Keys -> "Enable system-wide hot-keys" enabled, and are there key assignments in the list?
  21. I think you've found a bug. Please report it using Help -> "Send Bug Report". The contents of the log file should be the same as the contents of the log window. It seems the recording duration is being read incorrectly while the recording is in progress. Please report this as a bug too. MSRS stores the recordings as one WAV file per channel. To create a multi-channel DCT for Express Scribe: in Options -> Files, make sure you have selected DCT (Full multi-channel), then in Options -> Send, configure how you want to get the recording from MSRS to Scribe. (Probably "File Copy" if MSRS and Scribe are on the same PC or LAN.) When you finish recording, the DCT file will now be automatically sent to that location.
  22. Express Dictate has a 14 day full feature trial period, after which you will need to purchase a licence here.
  23. I'm not sure what you mean here, as the log folder is already set to a local folder by default. Did you really get a 73 hour recording? In Options -> Files there is a "Break recording into files of length" option, which defaults to 20 minutes, I think. MP3 and WAV hold one or two channels, DCT holds up to 32. Using Express Scribe you can change the volume or mute any of those channels independently.
  24. Which version of Express Scribe are you using? Since v4.36, vecusb.exe is no longer used. Could you check the hardware revision of your foot pedal? Connect the foot pedal to the computer. Start Windows' "Device Manager".In XP: Right click on "My Computer", select Properties, select Hardware, select "Device Manager". In Vista: Right click on "Computer", select Properties, select "Device Manager, if you get a "User Access Control" prompt, click Continue. [*]Look under "Human Interface Devices". For each "HID-compliant device" that you find: Right-click on the device and select Properties, select Details, select "Hardware Ids" from the Property list. The first value for the Infinity device is HID\VID_05F3&PID_00FF&REV_xxxx - please post that full value here. Thanks!
