  1. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Express Scribe for Mac, and installed it in my new imac, which has the latest OSX (mountain lion) installed. The default hot keys do not work. And I see that several others have written posts noting the same problem over the last several years on this forum. Is there any solution for this? I very much need to use the hot keys in my daily work with Express Scribe.
  2. I had found that Express Scribe (ES) can only accept latin script in the text window of the Linux version. So I installed the windows version of ES in my Vista computer, and tested it with Baraha unicode. Tried typing in Hindi. No go. One cannot type with non-Latin script. A transcription program should be designed for usability in various languages. What would it take to make ES international in design? I am guessing that any computer engineer at NCH would be able to get this working with minimal effort. International script adaptability has become standard in most all text editors and word processors today. Any tips on how to get it working in ES?
  3. The linux version works very well, but one can only type latin characters in the text window. If one needs to type i.e. in Hindi or Chinese or Arabic, then one has to open a separate application like a text editor, in which to do one's typing. And that is very inefficient, as one needs to bring one application up to the front in order to type, and then has to bring the other application to the front in order to control playback i.e. rewind, pause, etc. So there should be facility for using SCIM (Smart Common Input Method) for typing other language characters. Is this possible in the Express Scribe text window?
  4. If someone could tell me how to uninstall it, then at least I could try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Thanks, Swarup
  5. I have loaded Express Scribe v 4.14 in Linux (Ubuntu Hardy), and it installed perfectly. I have a .wav file on my desktop and have loaded it into Express Scribe. But it will not play that file, nor any file that I load. Including the "welcome" file that came included with your program. When I click on "play", nothing happens. The time counter doesn't move, nothing at all happens. As if I hadn't even hit the play button. So what do I do to make the play function work? (note: the files play fine in other applications, just not in Express Scribe.) Thank you, Swarup
