  1. Yes... I may have misled you - when I made the ten or so conversions they were all one right after another. I was trying out different codecs to see which could provide the best quality to size fit for our needs. I was primarily trying out Vianix MASC. All of the attributes of that format don't seem to work. I did try to reinstall the codec, and the original function I loaded that codec for still appears to work correctly. There were a few other codecs that have stopped working though. After I started having problems I went back and tried a few others... I know that "Windows Media Audio V1" and "V2" give me the same error as well - although I did not try them prior to the problem starting. But I would think that would point away from the individual codec having an issue.
  2. I have a little more information now. Apparently the issue must be codec related. After you hit "convert" it will begin decoding the .DSS file, and it will immediately error out during the converting process. I tried it with various codecs on my machine with mixed results. Some of them just couldn't seem to handle it any more for whatever reason. The reason this strikes me as odd is because initially I had no problem decoding using these codecs. Now, all of a sudden, they don't work any more. I'm certain I could find another codec that works and live with it, but my concern is for the other people that I'm testing it for - I'm wondering why some of the codecs are 'breaking' after a few uses.
  3. Highly doubtful. I worked with the same file approximately ten or so times before the error started. I originally got the .DSS file from an e-mail that was sent to me. Fearing it might be corrupted somehow, I saved the attachment again to the working directory and worked with a 'fresh' copy, so that should eliminate corruption issues. The .DSS files are created by people that I know and while the files are confidential, they do not have the knowledge or desire to protect the files - certainly nothing as complex as being able to protect them from being converted after ten uses, and with the ability to know that new copies of the file are actually the same file and must therefore be protected. (That may have sounded confusing but to keep it simple, let's just say the answer to your question is "No.")
  4. Although I was able to use Switch to convert some .DSS files to .WAV earlier, I can't seem to do it any more. It worked approximately 10 times (I was experimenting with various codecs) but now it comes back with an error every time. The Extended information simply states "The creation of the output file failed." It creates a 1kb file (which plays nothing) and I'm stuck from there. I have tried different directories. The permissions should not be an issue since I was able to create several files earlier. Any ideas on this?
