    Crashes under Vista

I am getting repeated crashes when running 4.02 (because 4.03 is broken with the CAHTA USB box, see helpful suggestions from others on this forum). It crashes while booting. It crashes again if left running. It just gives a fairly generic message saying that it closed unexpectedly and offering me a page to send comments to the bit bucket, sorry, to NCH support. I suspect it might have something to do with the foreground app trying to talk to the background service, and/or either of them not having the right privileges. Have tried disabling it directly, and also via deselecting the "start as a service" option. No difference. Thoughts? Thanks for any help.
  2. Trying to get the CAHTA SHT-2B/USB to work with IVM. Finally got the drivers installed in Vista. Had some repeated crashes of the IVM background service but these seem to have (temporarily?) abated. Now I have a strange problem: The call picks up, then hangs up 0-3 seconds later UNLESS I talk for a while over the top of the outgoing message. If I don't talk, it incorrectly says "Remote party has gone on hook". Incoming line is a BT PSTN line. Have tried various combos of end-of-call detection settings in IVM but to no avail. IVM 4.03 with Synway drivers 4.8.0.1. (PS I do have to say that this is not sufficiently stable to be a released product - it was advertised to work and I expected a professional product which just worked - it is taking hours and hours and hours of messing around to get it up and running with IVM. It's only an answering machine!)
  3. I have had IVM running for many years on a Dialogic card but it is time to move on to something more modern. However I would like to have UK (BT) caller ID working. This uses a different system from what is used by the US (and in the UK by cable operators). It sends a line reversal followed by a burst of tones, before starting the ringing. The ancient Dialogic could support this, but few modems do. Does anyone know of an up-to-date board which works with IVM and supports UK caller ID? Thanks
